Hi all - I was just contacted by C and have a request.
C's son (20) went to China with a church group for 6 weeks to work with Chinese students with conversational english and has come down with food posioning and is very sick - I need every one to please pray for him that he will be ok.
Thanks
ps - If Those of you who just read all these post without responding could offer a quick prayer too it would be appreciated.
You have my prayers. My son suffered from e-coli a few years ago, so my heart goes out to you, C and her son. I pray God pulls him through quickly and helps him heal fully.
Take care,

I just got this in an email and thought others might like it
Quote: One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off! Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.
Thanks for offering the story today, OGDA. I would like to check back in a few days and I hope you'll be able to tell us how C's son is doing. (I am wearing a "Livestrong" yellow wrist band to remind me to pray for a friend with cancer...but I will also include C's son every time I pray for my friend.)
Blessings,

no word yet on C's son but I will post as soon as I find out anything
C did tell me the other day that she was very sorry that she had been wishy washy and that that has hurt me. And it seems that now she is in the pushing me away mode somewhat. But I can see that she is not thinking about much else with her baby son over in China with food poisoning and she not beeing able to do anything about it. I can imagine just how helpless she feels right now. Good point tho is that she contacted me to ask me for my prayers for son. So now is the time to continue praying and to give her space and make no demands (not that I was anyway)
House is comming along fine - Brother is coming down from Tennessee to help me move furniture this weekend so I should have my washer dryer, bedroom suit, living room and dining room stuff moved in. Last night I did a little bit of the plumber thing and replaced the guts from the hot water valve in the shower. (old one was leaking really bad) Also did a little electrical and put in a new switch for the light over the sink (the old switch was fine but I needed a new one to be able to add under the counter lights.
Cookie and Calie seem to be taking to the new place too.
Well, I guess I had better try out that shower and get ready for work.
Everybody - Shake off all the dirt that life throws on your back and take a step up and keep smiling.
phew--- I am tired - got all my heavy stuff moved in - still have to move it around tho and get it just right. Master bedroom is just a little too small for my king size bedroom and dresser - had to set the bed at an angle to the wall to get it all in. Looks kinda funny but it will work for now.
Still have lots of small things to get from apartment but I can do that in the evenings. I have lots of work to do for now though.
