It was OW's office, and I have no idea if she recently changed, but I doubt it. Especially since it's just little nameplates that they can slide out and in on the new door. I wonder if she is trying to hide her location? Paranoia on her part might not be a bad thing. I felt flustered after hearing/seeing back of OW. But her whiny voice did make me think, OMG, how can W put up with this?????

So, today there have been a flurry of emails from W with questions about changing refrigerator filter, joint credit card, is this spam, etc. I've answered them all, usually waiting a while. Very matter of fact. I did not respond to "Hope you are doing ok" at the end of the first email.

I assume this is the best way to respond. Or is it?

I cant imagine she is trying to hide her location from you. It took you all of 5 seconds to find her office, right?I wouldnt worry/think about it at all.

Of course you felt flustered. You just went and stuck your hand on the hot stove....what did you think was going to happen?

Without knowing the content, Id say it sounds good.

Borrowed from Grlonfr: Outwit. Outlast. Outplay. I love that!

Azzork, the feeling flustered was worth it. I didn't mind at all. I like knowing where her office is. That way I can avoid it when I'm healthy and walk by when I'm not! It's in a completely different part of campus and I rarely have reason to go there, so don't worry.

NYG,

I am baaack! Sorry to have been MIA for a while....had a long birthday weekend and then swapped at work.

My forehead hit the desk when reading about you scoping out OW's office location. That is a big NO-NO! Imagine this: The secretary will tell the OW that "some lady came by asking about your office..." Then the OW will know this and will tell W. Don't give them the satisfaction of this at all.

This isn't the action(s)of someone who is detached. Still hanging onto the rope, even if it's indirect. Plus OW isn't worth a sh1t! Don't give her any head space or even your attention at all.

I think middle school-aged girls have detachment waaaay better than some DBers here! Some of them can get real mean and cold then their "exes" come running back to them. I think we all could learn (or re-learn) from them.

The OW is NOTHING. Really. Just a pond scum who is beneath you. Don't you ever dare to step on her floor ever gain.

Excellent. Way to go! Yep, just the facts ma'am.

[NYGal]Then she said, "Don't know if it was u who left the yellow daisies and the coffee made but it sure was a nice welcome home. Thank you." To which I replied 2 1/2 hours later. "you're welcome." [/quote]

I'm LOVING this!!!! Way to go, NY. That is brilliant DBing right there. grin

Not saying I dont believe you. But it sounded like you sought it out for some unknown reason.

Keep your chin up, NYG. The sooner you let go of OW, the happier you will be.

I guess I did seek out OW's office for some unknown reason. Knowledge is power maybe? Remember, OW is the troubled, newly minted, formerly-straight-now-allegedly-a-lesbian who doesn't want anything to be public. And she doesn't want to meet W's friends yet. I think a little intimidation can't hurt too much. Sorry, but if she did find out someone was looking for her, I don't mind. She can't prove it was me.

The point of detaching and moving on is that she learns how sh!tty life is without you. You're making it easy for her because you're helping her with everything she asks. For your own self-respect please stop doing that. It's her business now, not yours. There is a saying that is 10000% true. You can't nice them back.

TX, I disagree. The first time, fine. Again, and again...no.

I'm hoping that in this first week away, she's missing me. She tends to reach out when she's missing me. And I think she's curious what I'm up to and how I'm doing, so that's good. Aren't I just being the lighthouse?
