Hi Edz, try not to worry so much. Let go of what W may be doing and thinking right now, and just plan a nice weekend with S.

I think boys often put on some weight at S's age. SS did anyway. I think it's a combo of less romping about, screen time, and just being a bit greedy (with unhealthier foods in SS's case.)

For a while, we just made sure we only had healthy stuff around, did some portion control, and always had salad on the side (which had to be eaten before - modest - seconds.) We also got him up, off the screen and out swimming, cycling or other active stuff. He soon seemed to get back to a healthier weight, and if they shoot up in height too, as SS has, that also seems to even things out.

The thing we were most concerned about was healthy habits really. Getting enough exercise, eating well, treats in moderation and so on....

Anyway Mrs F - get off your soapbox! Have a good weekend Edz, and no worrying about W okay?? ((Edz))

Thanks guys you're all great.

Yes I need to let whatever is going on in w's mind go. I can't affect it, I can stop wading in but not much else.

Anyway.

S let w know he was upset over his tummy and was getting self conscious as toots says I think its a combination of pre puberty coming on and also he has a sweet tooth and a liking of junk like crisps (which of us doesn't) so we're trying via more exercise (me taking him swimming etc) some activities via home Ed and watching his diet and controlling via shopping choices and what's available in house(s) what he can snack on as well as no lemonade but fizzy water and no added sugar squashes plus more protein and watching carbs etc.

Feel a little better now although I seem to be coming down with a cold..doh!

Edz, sorry you're coming down with a cold. Mrs F just wants to say one more thing. SS really liked lollies as treats. Fabs are great, and are around 100 calories. Skinny Cow lollies are even nicer. They do choc mint ones. But I could only get those at Waitrose. I also used to dip healthy stuff like strawberries into chocolate for treats. Mainly healthy but a bit of indulgence.

Okay Mrs F - that's enough from you!

Thanks toots may be a cold or may be chlorine from swimming yesterday, s got very splashy and I got quite a lot up my nose!

I'll live smile

Got some frozen drink triangle things in which seem to have a low(er) sugar level. Will take a look at those suggestions though, ta.

Well, its a cold.... Ugh...

After a spluttery evening crashed out after checking s was ok and resolving a visit from the tooth fairy..who hasn't heard inflation is low... Emailed w a pic as she and i have been 'treated' to descriptions and demonstrations of said wobbly tooth for a week or so. She did reply oh thank god for that. Nothing since and will be sticking with not contacting her and trying not to think about her too much unless she pings me.

Anyhoo then Crashed out. Was asleep in minutes and woke up groggy and snuffly.

Think its going to be a scaled back activities day. Esp as the skies are back to grey and cold.

Will post later on.

I definitely noticed that the grey skies and cold made it harder to keep up my PMA while I was in London. Don't know how you guys do it!

Well toyed with just a shower thought no, got up did 60 rolls, 40 arm exercises and some stretching exercises then showered and got presentable hair tidied and gelled, shaved etc. Still full of cold but not giving in to it! Did concede on the diet today and had potato cakes and two eggs with croque Monsieur for s.

Weather is horrid so its a day of movies scrabble and indoor games today.

Catch up later.

S now in bed after a day indoors which was quite fun with games a bit of time on video games some TV dinner. Apart from some posts on Fb which I liked she's not contacted me but wasn't expecting anything really.

Once s went to bed got hit by a bit of a wall. It all feels a bit hopeless again right now. Is it? No idea but does feel so.

Cold medicine and bed time will catch you all tomorrow
