I am trying to get back to living because I know I felt that the world should have stopped when that child died. I can only imagine how his family feels. This week at work was rough, I just kept getting further behind. Finally made some progress on Friday.

So this weekend I really just tried to chill. I am so happy that both my Jayhawks and my Chiefs won. I know there are more important things in life but those victories made me feel as if things indeed can get back on track.

My kids have been supportive too. They think it is very sad but don't want me to go overboard and be overprotective. Overprotective? Me? Never! Lol

My livingroom is a mess from wrapping presents and I'm not even done yet. Plus I am sore from sitting on the floor wrapping. I'm getting old.

Why not wrap at the table? Or set up a card table in your bedroom? That way it is out of the way.

Habit I guess. Lol. I have always liked to spread everything out and just grab and wrap, grab and wrap. I don't have that much room on the table. I am like that at work too. I like to see everything at once. Guess I shouldn't gripe. smile

You are an "outie" - like me - you prefer to see everything. If I put something away in the drawer - it does not exist.

I spent a long time organizing the kids' gifts. Making sure they are reasonably even. Putting things together. The wrapping is the faster part.

I was thinking too, I like to be near the kids (though I would really enjoy 4 or 5 hours alone). Even when I am sick, I lay down on the couch so I am close if they need me. I have been like that ever since they were little.

My kids probably just think aim crazy. Lol

Nope - not crazy - caring! I always did that too. Actually - they never wanted me out of their sight either.

I'm the opposite of outies! I only like to see my gifts out when I'm wrapping them. Otherwise, they better be out of sight.

And when I'm sick, I can't be around other people. Period. Funny that my girls are the same way. We leave each other alone!

Hugs to all of you!
