The office is closing at 1pm on Christmas Eve, is closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Normal hours 27th, 30th and 31st, then closed on 1st. I'll probably take Jan 2nd off as well as its my son's b/day. Last year my bosses gave me an additional day off over Christmas without it impacting my annual allowance - maybe they'll do the same this year .

That'll be good if can give you the extra day Let's hope so, fingers crossed

Even if they don't I figure I'll work 3 half days plus S13's b/day off and that will use up the last of my vacation. Neither boss is going to be working and most of our clients aren't going to be wanting to invest - although some might want to redeem some money - so the office is likely to be dead. Last year between Christmas and New Year's it was only the admin staff who were working.

Oh well hopefully you'll get the time off then I've just rung the decorator, he said he can't do it until after Christmas, so I've put the money away so I know how much I've got left to spend on food, etc. Bit annoying really, but he says he's busy until then and the weather is quite bad at the mo so he won't be able to do it. I just hope the roof doesn't collapse before then.

So at least you'll be able to decorate for Christmas and not have to worry about anything being in the way or getting damaged with the decorator coming or going.

Well that's one way of looking at it I just hope the roof doesn't collapse before Jan. He's told me to put away £1400, but originally he said it will cost £1200. I pointed this out to him and he said you better put more away just in case. Grrrr, I hope he's not taking me for a ride!

Had a good day today Went out with my son to our local town, hoping to get his haircut but it was shut! On a Saturday as well! Did a bit more Christmas shopping - food and presents.
Didn't get home until 3pm, I was shattered!
The funniest thing that happened was I rang my mum and told her I was going out with my gay friend on Boxing Day. Well... I think she just heard the friend bit because she started asking me loads of questions about him - Has my son met him? What does he do for a living?, etc. I mentioned about him putting on a telephone voice and sounding more masculine and then coming off the phone and talking camp again, lol. My mum then said "oh is he gay then?" rofl! Sorry mum, not got a new fella, lol.
H rang up later all happy and cheery again. I'm keeping my guard up though He said have I got the tree up yet or is that a silly question? I asked him what did he mean by that and he said well you never want to put the tree up this early. I said I was going to put it up today, but we got home too late. He probably nearly fell off his chair, lol. Another 180 for me He's taking our son out tomorrow so I might get the tree out ready for my son to decorate when he gets back home. That'll shock H He wants to pop in tomorrow to see the finished decorating in the living room. I said it looks really good, perhaps gushed about it a bit too much but what the hey! lol. I am really pleased with it and it's made all the difference Better than looking at the mess that H left it in when he's left. It'll be good if I can get him to do a few jobs whilst he's here as well, got loads of little jobs need doing. I won't hold my breath though, no expectations
I've been practising my nail art as well for the competition. I'll post the photo when I've finished the sample nail.
Oh yes and my gay boy friend rang me as well and we had a natter. Talked about when we were meeting boxing day and he said he's going to try and round up a few more of us Really looking forward to it, I don't get out much at night

I warned you about these guys! But that's just about the hugs and the clubbing. LOL.

There's always something unexpected to add to the cost. Always! Of course, if something comes up that couldn't be foreseen that will significantly raise the cost, then it should be renegotiated with that in mind, I think.

H came round today after dropping my son off. He took great pleasure in pointing out a minor flaw about the fireplace in the living room (see post on FB). The wall has blown and the decorator did the best he could to patch it up. Well that might be a minor flaw, but my H is the major flaw in my life! He said he wouldn't have paid him unless he fixed it. For goodness sake! Always looking for the negatives! One good thing that's come out of this though, on the Heroes Spouse forum we've been giving our spouses nicknames. Well I've got a new nickname for my MLCer now, lol. Introducing Major Flaw lol.
