Cheech & Chong go to Church? Now that would be a funny skit! Remember Sister Mary Elephant?

By the way, BA - I'm impressed that you succeeded in pleasing your daughter with your clothing choices. My daughter is 25 and even though I know her well - buying clothes for her is dicey. Something I am certain she would love doesn't always turn out that way. Kudos to you!

Barb - I'm impressed too! My D19 and I really can't buy for each other. And since she dresses well, I can't say that it's a bad thing. I guess I just don't see the potential in things that she does. Plus it probably helps that she's 5-9 and has a gorgeous figure.

Lynn - You're on! It might have to wait until after D19 rolls into town now, though (12/17). Mr. W. leaves for DC on 12/3 and doesn't come home until 12/20. Which means I've got D16 all to myself. I might be able to find one of the cheerleaders to come hang out with her and pay 'em if I have enough advance, though. Glad to hear that things with Dave are going super well!

No social plans for me this weekend. I'm going to be giving my house a thorough housecleaning before I leave, and I'm putting up Christmas decorations on Sunday. Add laundry and a trip to the grocery store and church, and I'm pretty well cooked. I want to get it done now, because when I get back, I'm going to have to make a serious dent in Christmas shopping. Yuck! I HATE shopping! Even worse, I hate spending money!

Okay, time to get a couple things done here before I call it a day and head home to my lovable, cuddly Siamese. With the temps in the low teens lately, she's been my welcome sidekick.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Betsey

Have you made any progress with the "just for men" guy?

Thanks Barb! It was a bit of dicey move for me as well, but honestly she already has all of the electronic gizmos and some clothes just seemed like a good option. I'm thinking that I just got lucky in picking out two things that she actually likes. I've gotten confirmation in that she just wasn't saying she liked them, because she headed off to school this morning wearing one of the shirts. smile

So my weekend was busy and COLD! Saturday I spent almost 4 hours out in the yard raking up thousands of leaves. Saturday night was had a cold front with some pretty significant winds and temperature drop come in. As a result, Sunday morning it looked like I hadn't touched my yard - aside from the 15 bags of leaves at my curb! frown At least now the trees are starting to look bare so the end is in sight.

No dates for me this weekend - which was actually pretty nice. I have gone out a couple of times with Regina, but I'm seriously not feeling it with her. We had dinner on Thursday and we have good conversation, but there's no romantic spark there for me. In my daily matches there was someone who really seemed intriguing to me - we have A LOT of common interests and similarities. I was going to wait until after the first of the year before reaching out to anyone, but I am reconsidering that idea after reading her profile. Going to give it some thought.

On another note, Betsey - I'm looking forward to Wednesday night! grin

Me too!

Speaking of cold... I woke up this morning freezing. I was in my bed and thought, "You must be getting sick to feel cold in bed." Backstory: I replaced the batteries in my thermostat yesterday after getting the warning. Apparently, the batteries are duds. I came downstairs very grudgingly to see the display on my thermostat blank. Yikes! I put in some rechargeables and the display came back to show 59 degrees inside. I had to hustle to get to work to warm up. Fortunately, it was 63 when I left. It was awful. But at least I know I'm not crazy OR getting sick. Especially because it's 30 outside and snowing. frown

Other than that, I got my Christmas decorations up and will trim the tree when I get home tonight. I'm internet shopping today and tomorrow as well. It helps ward off the bitter disappointment I've felt about sports the past few days. cry

OK, gotta get back to work. My Denver based tech lost his mom suddenly on Saturday. I need to keep a few things going for him in his absence.

Take care everyone and stay warm!

Betsey
