I agree with this. One of the biggest reasons why my H felt he had to leave was because of my negativity. I mean I was really really bad. I used to tell him "I like to think about things negatively so if they don't turn out good I'm less disappointed"
........ seriously who wants to be around the kind if person? And I was very sarcastic too and just like lovethehub, I thought I was being funny. It was my defense mechanism.

I really think I turned my life around just about the time when I started volunteering and writing a journal on my cell. I attempted keeping a journal numerous times in te past but I couldn't keep up. It was a perfect timing for me to start after BD and I've been keeping up to this day. I use Day One app and its making it easier for me to keep up.

Venting here helps too but it'll really help you if you have a place where you can just pour out your emotions and feelings without sharing with anyone. You don't have to think about what others would think and be completely yourself. I log simple things that made me smile, laugh or appreciated. I also write what made me feel bad like gossiping at work etc.
