*Knowing that God loves me far more than any person could and that He will never leave me.

*The many wonderful and supportive people I've met on this journey.

*My crazy, goofy boys.

*That I get to keep my house after the D.

*A job where I get to work with great people.

*The desire and energy to go for walks or ride by bike and enjoy nature.

*The opportunity to go back to school.

*The ability to realize that my H didn't define who I am as a person and I'm still o.k. even though I'm on my own.

*Still being able to laugh and smile.

My Mom and sister came over today to help the boys and I decorate our tree and house. It was a little party with snacks and all the trimmings. It was so much fun and took our mind off the fact that h wasn't here to help out.

S11 told me tonight that he just knows this year is gonna be a good Christmas

I have every intention of making that some true!!!!

I am very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in my life!!!

I'm a DB alumni and came for a little visit tonight. I saw this thread and chuckled because I was one of the original posters a couple of years ago.

Anyway, my positive is that even though my life turned out very differently than I had wanted, I have many blessings including a new man in my life. When I gave thanks last Thursday, it was with a full, genuine heart of gratitude for all that I have been blessed with. One of the best lessons I've learned is not to dwell on that which we don't have, but on the many things that we do have.

I know that many of you who read this are probably at the very beginning of your journey and perhaps find it hard to believe that you will ever be happy again. I said this over and over when I was on the board, but what got me through was my faith in God and taking it one day at a time. If you consistently do that, you WILL get through it and life will be better.

Blessings,
ICBI
