I have my first court date with my STBXH Thursday and I'm nervous. We both have attys...he actually hired one after receiving my paperwork that I filed for temporary relief.

i just hope I get awarded some money for our mortgage that I've been covering completely since the day we separated our money in April. Money is tight since he has left and I know he's not struggling one bit financially.

I guess I'm still just bitter, because in all of this, I'm still the one suffering from his actions!!

What did your lawyer say you should expect with regard to the house and the mortgage?

She said that technically he has to pay half of it until we are divorced, but that it's up to the judge on whether he thinks I need the temp relief.

We had our first court date today and I was sooo nervous!!! Turns out there was nothing to be nervous about because he didn't show up and his lawyer was 30 minutes late. His lawyer asked for the case to be continued to a hearing in late September in order to get caught up on the case since he just hired his lawyer last week!

I just think it's complete BS, but whatever...not until Sept will I see if I get any money from him.

Other than that, I came into work and was as happy as I could be because my students just made me smile. Friends were in full support of me today and even a guy friend called me back to see how I was doing!

I have a weekend full of jam packed plans and I'm excited for it. At least I have nothing else to worry about for another month!

That's terrible -- you're finally at the point where you want closure and he's dragging things out. So sorry H&P, stay strong!

Since I used to always write my H letters---deployments, boot camp, long distance relationship--I was thinking about writing him one last and final letter. Not a mean one..just closure for me. Any thoughts on this? Has anyone written one?

My DB coach recommended writing one -- but after you do stop to consider before you mail it. Decide if it's important that he reads it, or if it was just for you.

I feel like the letter is for me to get my final thoughts and feelings out...to have closure for myself, but I still don't know if it will give me what I'm looking for.
