Hello everyone, hope you all are doing well. I was officially divorced on 9-26, I guess I will be moving over to the other forum. I will continue to keep up on all your sitchs, really, it was just a ten minute hearing, we did not use lawyers or mediation, kept it very amicable. She did not appear, as she is now living in another state and it was not required.

After the hearing, I called her to tell her she was now divorced, didnt want to do it by email or text. I thanked her for 13 years of friendship(we have been together 14, but the last year we lived entirely separated.), told her that I had her back when we were married and would have continued to have her back. She said she was sorry I had to go through this, and I said stay in touch, and that was that. Its done. What can you say?
The court is about a 2 minute walk from my office, I walked outside, it was a beautiful day, caught my breath, and went back to my office, back into the trenches to deal with the everyday minutiae of dealing with homeless vets, vets suicide etc.

And so, life goes on, heres to a new beginning, thank you all for your support throughout this whole process, and I will stay in touch, will probably still post here awhile longer.

Hello all,
Still here o this site. Just got home from the «great land» aka alaska. Beautiful place. Picked up my mail, got s note from my ex saying she wanted to let me know that she was reverti.g back to her maiden name, thst she was sorry she was putting me through this, but that it was the right thing for her. Of course she totally within her rights to do this but i still felt another slight stab, damm, every time i make progress moving on, and i have made alot, the scab gets pulled back just a little to expose raw flesh. Anyone else have similar experiences?
Hope you all are doing well, i continur to lurk,
Best to all

gunny, sounds like an awesome trip!

That kind of stuff always seems to happen after a great trip like that.

My W had that stated in the draft D proposal. I decided right there when I read it that she probably didn't deserve my last name anyway with how she's been handling herself. Don't know if that helps or not.

hey jb and lady,
Thanks for your posts. Alaska was well, amazing. Seemed like everyday was a new surprise waiting to be discovered. Stay on the military base in Anchorage was a special treat, as it is always good to mingle with the troops! Got to go to the chow hall every day for meals, and had revielle, at 0630 every morning. Motivating!! Took some getting used to having the sun come up at 9am, and when it comes up, it comes up fast. I have decided to go back next March or September, both times are relatively temperate, longer days, and less crowds, plus the airfares are still pretty reasonable. Good to hear from you both, will be following your posts thanks!
