Not too bad yet. Their Dad's birthday was Friday and it was his weekend with the girls. He got the kids together on Saturday and S16 actually decided to spend the night and S19 had to work so I had a Saturday to myself. I got on a family tree site and got totally engrossed. My parents just got back last night but they brought me some copies of documents so that I can add more stuff. I spent my whole weekend doing that. So neat to find stories about my relatives that others have unearthed before me!!
Oh back to the kids, this will be their first day "off" so to speak. Hopefully the house will still be in one piece when I get home. lol

I saw the pic you posted of, was it, your great uncle? That was pretty cool.
I've often thought about joining Ancestry to see if I could find out more on my mom's side of the family or my dad's line. I have my grandmother's line all the way back to Scotland in the 1500's amazingly enough, but nothing about my paternal grandfather's side or my mom's family before they came from Germany and Ireland.
I hope your house survives the onslaught!

It was a picture of my great great grandfather! Pretty cool huh? Someone else has done quite a bit with the family but I didn't really pay attention to which of my great grandmothers siblings she was related to.
There are adoptions in my family but with those records being closed I am just going to go along the family that claims us path. Guess I can't do more than that now.
Class reunion is this weekend and still have to juggle s16's work schedule and the girls around it. Can't believe I am biting the bullet and going!

I never knew Cardinals went as far south as Fort Myers, FLorida - but they were the first birds I had on my feeder there. And I had never seen them as far north as my new home here in northern Ontario (we did have them in Southern Ontario) but I saw one this past w/e.
They are gorgeous and their song is SO pretty. Just love them!
I hope your reunion is fun. I'm proud of you for going!
Just a quick background meaning of cardinals to me. They were my grandmother's favorite bird. After she passed away, there was a cardinal waiting for me at home. While going through the divorce, I saw one each day I had to go to court. I believed that they were a sign from my grandmother that she was with me.
They are pretty shy and I have only seen them on occasion since then. The last 3 weeks or so, I have seen at least one every day. They are making sure I see them too...like flying right in front of my windshield. Or standing in the street, or flying by as I take Cooper outside. Something is up!

Wow! Love your story about the cardinals. I feel the same way about butterflies. I think of my Mom whenever I see one. The day she died I was talking to my sister in my driveway and a beautiful butterfly kept flitting in between us. I just KNEW it was Mom. And many times they have come around at appropriate times and made me smile for my Mom.
