Wii,

Please take it easy. You know you have a tendency to go over the top - even if the cap was a joke.

Seriously - I would NEVER have let a guy I had not even met yet pick me up. Right there - is a huge safety concern. Meet in a public place. I made sure the guys did not know my real phone number so they did not know where I lived. I don't want anyone who could be a "stalker" to know - that's for sure. I also had children to protect. Call me overly safe - but can you be too safe?

Also - you say you let her pick the place yet you are all over her with suggestions. Let her do it. Let her be comfortable in meeting her.

If you scare her off now - you won't meet.

I'm glad you enjoy her emails and she enjoys yours but remember - you have felt this way with other women too.

You are meeting for coffee. Just coffee.

Relax.

Barb

Gotcha! I made the offer but stated clearly that only if she was comfortable with it, I said I'm OK either way "just wanted to offer". She also asked me whether I would prefer to go to the Second Cup near her house, I said that was fine. We'll firm things up later in the week. I told her Sunday I wouldn't be on the computer much cuz my kids were with me this week, so I check in once a night, send her an email re: our plans but no half hour email sessions. I really am under control Barb...really! She seems to really like me being me though, which is nice. She likes my chatty little emails. She also seems to just say things she feels rather than sitting around and figuring out what is the strategic thing to say. I like that cuz I'm like that too.

It's not just coffee, it's Second Cup coffee! Can I get a muffin too?

No, I just told her I wouldn't be on much this week because I have my girls and I'd say hi from time to time. I was also the one who said goodnight after our brief emails last night. I'm looking to tie up her online time. We've got a meet planned so I don't need to trade emails endlessly anymore. She's already said "I'd love to meet you". I just pay her attention periodically and we both seem to enjoy those interactions. She said my emails always make her smile, that's such a nice thing to say. I'm not smothering her, don't worry! Mystery is still intact smile

Who really is, when you think about it! Often it just depends on the two people involved. For e.g. I don't offer to pick up every lady I meet, in this case, I felt it appropriate and sensed she would appreciate the thought, which she most certainly did! She's also given me her phone number so she obviously feels some comfort with me so far. She also likes my humour so again I felt safe using it when I did and again, she very much liked it. So, when she says she really enjoys my emails I want to give her that but not in large doses, just enough to keep that smile on her face! Anyway, as always, we'll see.

One coffee date I had said to me "Do you want a donut with that? Nahhh - you don't need one". Ummm - that was the shortest coffee date I had and it felt like the longest.

UGH!

PS - I totally agree with Gineen - mystery is very important. DO NOT tell her everything in the beginning.
