Hey jb- I'm enjoying your thread, and I certainly appreciate the message you relay of having more time than you think you do! My wife is convinced she wants this to go fast - and assures me she'll have everything out of the house by the end of the month - but she sure doesn't seem to be moving fast at all, which is good, and leaves me with time to learn and grow.

jb, Thank God for those coffee shops!! After I do my runs along the canal, I walk up the street and hit the coffee shop in town. Really getting to know some of the workers there, now, when I walk in, they don't even ask what I want, just serve up the decaf coffee and bowl of oatmeal!! Kind of nice to feel wanted! lol, Enjoy the warm weather, from today on the days get longer, biking/running here we come!

O GOD THY SEA IS SO GREAT AND MY BOAT IS SO SMALL!
kolja, thanks for stopping in. My best advice would be to use every second you've been given to learn and grow. If you're given more time, don't be discouraged and try to be patient. It's a marathon not a sprint. Don't try to rush things along.
Yesterday I went back to my S's school for the holiday assembly. I never realized a group of kids playing recorders could sound so good.
My S got to skip riding the bus on the way home. We played Wii for a little bit before I had to leave. It was my W's night. I wasn't there last night when she picked up my S, because I had plans.
My plans were to drive about 20 minutes to a running store and go on one of their group runs. Last night wasn't too bad. The temperature was in the upper 40s and it was drizzling. I told them my pace and the distance I wanted to go. I think I got mixed up with the wrong crowd. We started out going a lot faster than I wanted and we went for 4 miles instead of 3. I haven't run 4 miles or more since the early 90s.
I came home after that and did nothing worthwhile or productive despite staying up much later than I ever wanted to. Gotta get back on my game.
Just wanted to say Hi! I took a loooong break from the forum.
Glad to you see you are still the GAL champion !
MK - always good to hear from you, man. I've been finding myself concentrating a little less on this forum myself and a little more on my life. But maybe I'm just busy.
Yesterday turned out to be a nice day. The temperatures were in the mid to upper 50s. I didn't have my S yesterday. He was with my W's family at an indoor water park for their Christmas get together. I took advantage of the mild December weather and hit the bike path for 27 miles.
After that it was time to start Christmas shopping. I don't have to shop for my W this year. I'm assuming she isn't buying me anything. She hasn't really been giving me any reason to want to buy her anything, and if I did, it would probably push her a little further away, anyway. I was able to get my shopping about 85% done in about 2 hours. Sometimes it great to be a guy.
Today it was rainy and in the 40s. I was able to finish my Christmas shopping today. Despite the crummy weather, I did hop on the bike for a short 8.6 mile ride. I had Men's group at my church tonight. It was a really nice meeting. We talked in depth about the Christmas story.
I did have some contact with my W today. We texted a bit about what we both bought our S for Christmas. Also, she came by after I got home from Men's group and dropped off my S. She was here about 2 minutes total. She just seemed really tired.
Tomorrow, my S and I are planning to hang out. I think we're going to try to go downtown and see the model train displays. I am also supposed to get together with my W and we're going to meet up at the phone store to split our cell phones. There was a time where that would've really bothered me, but now I think I'm just so ambivalent about the situation that I'm OK with it. It's probably for the better. It may even save me some money. There will be no temptation at all to snoop anymore.
