Hey Punkin, I know what you mean about going along and then you are hit with those feelings.

It is normal. We were in long term marriages. Not going to get over them in a short amount of time. Especially since this was not initiated by us.

ANOTHER DUCK IN THE ROW! Made a two hour drive this a.m. to Texas Army Base and had my new Military ID card made, and was re entered into the DEERS ( Tricare ) System. I now have insurance for as long as I live. This was my main objective, at least my admitted main objective to putting off the D for so long. Accomplised!. I have sent certified copies of the Decree to the different powers that be in the Military to insure the pension split and the alimony, and asked that they be direct deposited when the time comes.

Altogether, a good day today. Trying to attack one project at a time in this move. One load at a time. Slowly but surely emptying out our 'dream house'. Making this one MY dream home.

well done Punkin

H re entered the reserves recently. Says d14 and I are in deers but i haven't made the hike to the base b/c I fear they won't know that we are in the system

and as you well know, it's a big drag waste of time to go unless you KNOW you will leave with the ID. Like a giant version of the DMV.

Any tips on what I'll need? Yes we are still married (div busted) and have two kids over the age of 21 and out of college. As I recall, they are not entitled to anything, correct? Just the one at home does?? I heard that now the reserves families get what we used to get as AD in that the PX and commissary are available and later, health care for me for life. (I'm a veteran too, but it's nice to know it's doubly likely not to get cut in the future).

FWIW, the veteran's child advantage for college amounts to nothing if you earn much. Have not seen many benefits lately but Oh well. I do miss the comraderie of military families around.

You sound really good. See? You are making it.

25,

I called ahead to the base I intended to go to and asked:

What do I need to bring? (2 kinds of identification)
What where their hours? ( 9:00 - 3:30)
Do I need an appointment ( First come, first serve)

The hardest thing, depending on the base you are going to, is getting into the base without a sticker on your vehicle. Luckily, the base I went to had it's DEERS/ID Station outside of the gates. If your husband accompanies you, with his ID and his vehicle, it shouldn't be that difficult.

Good Luck!

Good evening everyone.

I'm in a bit of a quandry this evening, as news reached me of my XH's marriage to OW. D34 called and gave me the news. She saw it on FB. The new Mrs. C posted pics of, get this: Her getting out of a limo in full white wedding ensemble ( 3rd or 4th marriage) Pics of the NEW HOUSE WITH PLENTY OF ROOM FOR ALL THE KIDS ( written that way in caps) It was obvious that she wrote it, and that it was intended for my children to see. How juvenile can this woman be? And how stupid is he?

I'm not really hurt, or angry, just flabbergasted. He is 49 yo and acting like a teenager. I should be used to this by now, but WTH? I actually hurt for the girls, who not only got to see it on FB, and the postings were obviously aimed at them and me, but that's how they found out.

Anyway, my life is quiet and simple at this time, and I'm thankful for that. The cool weather made me do a stupid thing this morning, though. I felt so spunky I rode my bike to work. 2.3 miles. Made it in 15 minutes. No problem. Felt great. Know what? The ride home, while only on a slight grade, is ALL UPHILL! By the time I came panting into my door ( 35 minutes) I was gasping for air and telling myself I was never going to do that again!!!!!!!!!!!

Punkin...

Saw that you stopped by my thread...thanks. I have a lot of catching up to do and would only say re: your friend with benefits. Let it go. It happened.

Sorry about batchit crazy XH marrying OW. Guess what? It is his freaking loss! Your a keeper girl...'member dat!

As for my birthday...pretty much a non event. I rented my house and had to do some stuff for my tenants. Then went out and had a few drinks. I did end up at a club that was a converted ferry boat...pretty cool. Had the latin hips moving smile

As for your XH and the kids....ya sow what ya reap. Time Punkin...time...

God Bless,
Eric

Punkin, I admire your detachment from his idiocy. You go, girl!! It's the most peaceful way for you to live your life. It is his loss. Everything is looking brighter for you by the day. Remember that.

Punkin - they truly are nuts. You have one of the more deranged ones though. Most have enough sense not to marry OW, for starters.

Keep cycling girl, I am older than you and have come to realise that we need to build exercise into our daily lives. Sorry but it is true.

My first, childish, instinct would be to hire a minibus and ALL show up, quite early and shout SURPRISE: we have come for the day. OK just a dream.

Keep on enjoying your life, and posting here. I find you inspirational.

PS If you haven't seen Valeria's thread, take a look. A lovely lady who I remember from way back. Her h now wants back after 6+ years!!!!!

Punkin, I agree with Beatrice. Your XH is one of the more deranged ones, his choice of an ow shows how deep he's in.

I don't say this about many people because we only get one side of the story here but your XH seems to really have chosen an evil, manipulative person. She is so proud of herself for her 'accomplishments'.

You reap what you sow. It's a matter of time before the house of cards that they've built comes tumbling down.

Keep living your best life Punkin, and yes, please keep posting. I'd miss my hilarious little sis if you decided to leave. You have so much wisdom and strength that help so many walking this path.

I agree with the others, Punkin, it's his loss.

Thanks everyone! I needed to hear that.

It's all things you know in your heart and head, but to hear it from an outside party gives it more validation.

I did take something to help me sleep last night, just in case, and awoke still feeling somewhat odd. Like my classification has changed in some way, if not my personification.

Take my own advice . . .Just keep swimmin'
