About the decree, advice given to me about the legal stuff with W is to not resist or help her with this. Answer requests by deadlines and do very little to help her in that regard.

My W filed in April, NOTHING now for 3 months.

On one hand I guess it is nice that she is not on the fast track.

On the other, like you, the suspense gets old.

But there is no real positive to come from pushing the matter. Let her do what she needs to do, and you keep living your life.

I agree with CS. You will be pushing in on your wife's boundaries/space by asking about the divorce matter. That's anti- DB/DR.

Glad to see you went skydiving!!

I have 34 static jumps and one free jump (10,500 ft) and it was WILD. personally I think static jumps are scarier, because you only jump at 1,250 ft.

As for the decree I will say this and the jumping out of plane analogy can be used

When I was in AirBorne school for the army one thing that stands out is something my instructors would always say.......

"Paratroopers! It takes your T-10 parachute 4 seconds to deploy. It takes 12 seconds to fall 1,250 feet. It takes 6 seconds for your reserve to open which leaves you 2 seconds to decide what to do. Your chute WILL open. Look at the horizon!! DO NOT LOOK DOWN!! The ground will come! Look at the horizon! Paratroopers, the one guarantee you have is the ground WILL come! Do not look down!!"

The LBS tends to believe what the WAS is spewing from their mouths.
My Stbx said she wanted to D 8/09, again in 5/10. We had a brief attempt at R 11/10 then she said she wanted to d again in 1/11.


The anticipation of opening an email from her drove me crazy.
I thought "Is this the one where she tell me she went to a lawyer".
That feeling can really eat you up.
The best thing to do is prepare for the possibility that the WAS will do as they say. Accept the M as you know it to be over.


I got tired of her indecisiveness.
I told her she needs to file by 7/15/11 or I will.

Life is so much better now that I don't have any expectation from STBX.

The paratroopers analogy by 2step is great.

I find myself in the same boat as you MyK. The next episode of drama (the ground) will come soon enough. I know it is difficult to be patient. We want answers....now. There isn't much we can do, except take care of ourselves.

I went skydiving years ago, static line 3000 ft. wonderful experience.

as far as do-overs and your daughter. you mentioned regret at not seeing her enough in the past.

the trick is that 2 years from today you can look back over the those 2 years and not have that same regret.

if you can do that, your do-over has been well played.

LITB, don't worry. Things will smooth out slowly with your sitch too. Mine was red hot just a month back.
