Well, things have not gotten better, in fact I started drinking alot more and have probably pushed the final nail in. I just have lost it and I am spiriling downward.

I never get any positive feedback and it has taken its toll on me

As I read this post, I wished I could think of something that would give you hope, a reason for taking care of yourself and not giving up. Then I scrolled down to the bottom of your post.....and saw it.

I've read your thread and it's tough for me to see you struggling for a few months to get your family back,

only to do THIS? Really?

My father was an alcoholic and when he got liver cancer (related to drinking), it was the only 57 days from his diagnosis to death. Only 57 days of sobriety we got with him before his death. He wasn't much older than you are now. He had MANY regrets on his deathbed.

Stop the drinking. I won't sugar coat it.

You have been here claiming to want your family back and claiming to have changed, but you constantly wanted guarantees that she'd take you back if you changed, which was really missing the point.

Now with just a few weeks left, you decide to totally validate her reasons for leaving? In fact, you are giving her an additional reason for leaving!

You want THIS to be what your children recall of their last weeks together as a family? Really?

(You can't even wait til they leave to drink?)

If you don't value this time with your family enough to be sober for it, then maybe they should go.

Sorry, but it's time to man up, and put the bottle down. Deal with reality and try to rebuild what you can with them. People leave their spouses every day. Pain is the same everywhere, and we all have been where you are. You can make a different choice.

If not now, when?
