Kitti, KAW,

Thank you both for dropping by!

Kitti, thank you for the inspiration to re-start on Atkins.

5 pounds down and feeling hopeful and happy!

KAW,

That's so wonderful that she's using the pillow! Woo hoo!!

I'm so glad they are helping her to self-soothe!!

Sounds like you scored big points! And the fact that her other friend gave her one as well, just goes to show how much of a wonderful friend YOU are!

Hugs to you both!

Kitti,

Actually, I've heard great things from people who combined the Body-for-life regime with Atkins. I borrowed the book from the library and went to their website: www.bodyforlife.com

My husband suggested that I not allow myself to play Everquest until I've done my workout for the day.

What a brilliant idea!

I can tell you right now, this is going to work. I didn't play everquest for the whole 16 months he and I were separated...and yet I was still having dreams about it!

Now that I have access again, I just want to play for hours!

So, forcing myself to work out first and then play eq as a reward will be torturous but successful!

Heh...whacha think, Kitti?

Hugs!

Kitti and PIB

I would like to join the shape up challange as well. I am trying to start Atkins today - I semi did the low carb approach over the holidays and weighed this am and although
I was sure I had gained due to slip ups (you know...cookies and candy - ugggh) but had only a 1 lb gain. so I guess my going low carb on most days saved my holiday weight gain!

I am off to get a salad now for lunch. NO Croutons or Carrots!

Kitti - another question - do you reccommend any of the bars - such as "carb solutions" or what not?

should we start a new thread in JFF to follow this journey?

Kitti - help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fyi - lost 35 lbs since last yr. Have at least 20 or 25 to go.

cupcake, yes, i think we should start something in jff - as far as the bars? anything with maltitol, can cause stalls in weight loss, so you have to ask yourself what is more important

i have been doing this for over 13 months now, and i have become pretty knowledgeable about all the ins and outs of this way of life, i will be happy to share all the information with you

if you crave sweets, make your own, do not count on the stuff with maltitol or sorbitol, or any other tol things

i have MANY sweet recipes that i will share with you, splenda is awesome stuff

start a thread!!!

Body for Life is great in that you lift weights... and you can use dumbells. I am planning on restarting myself. Anyway, with the weight lifting, you see results fast (SEE the definition, not weight loss) and it also revs up your metabolism. You can walk in addition to it.

Relax. Appreciate. Be calm. Laugh. Enjoy. Be secure. Be loving. Be loved. Don't personalize. Don't ASSume. Accept. Be grateful.
