You are making great strides my friend. That wall is slowly coming down. I'm sorry to hear about your W's Grandmother's passing. Your hard work is paying off - YOU are a lucky dog!

Keep doing what you're doing because it's working for both you AND her.

Thanks for the continued support everyone!! LIS... you're great with words!! Seriously...

Update...

W texted me at about 4 o'clock to ask me if she could take me up on my offer to help out that I had made earlier in the day. Won't go into the details of that, but we ended up texting back and forth for about an hour. Nothing worth noting other than just the consistent contact.

At the end of our text convo, she asked me if I had plans tonight or if I was just going home. I responded that I didn't have any plans and asked her what she was doing. She told me that she didn't know, that her mom was going to be home alone though. I responded and asked W if she wanted for us to take her mom to dinner. She asked her mom who said that she'd like that.

So I meet W, MIL and SS for dinner. We mostly talked about MIL's trip to Korea. Like last night, there was quite a bit of laughter. It was nice. I sat next to my W.

At one point when my W was laughing at something, I looked at her and just felt telling "I am soooo in love with you right now."

So, I went to the bathroom and wrote on the back of my business cards the following message:

"I probably shouldn't be telling you this right now, but I've had a couple of drinks. I am soooo in love with my W right now."

I put the card in my pocket and contemplated giving it to W the rest of the evening.

When we were done with dinner, I walked W, MIL and SS to W's car. As we hugged, I handed her the card and told her to give it to her landlord (who is looking for an attorney). As I was on the other side of the car saying goodbye to MIL I saw W look at it with a look of surprise. Neither of us said anything.

I did NOT post here bc I was worried that I had just made a HUGE DB mistake and was going to be a little embarrassed.

But... about an hour after I got home, my W called.

W: "So did you want me to give that card to my landlord?"

Me: "No of course not! LOL... I'm sorry, I probably should have given that to you right now."

W: "It's what you should be telling me all of the time! LOL.."

Me: "I know it is W. I know that it is."

A few seconds of quiet... maybe a little discomfort.

Can't quite remember how we transitioned, but then we talked for about 30 minutes about the classes that she's teaching and all of the grading she has to do.

Then talked about trip to Buffalo... forgot to mention, W apparently assumed that I was going bc at dinner, she asked what days I could go.

So currently, I'm on and off the phone with my W planning on a trip to Buffalo with her and her family!

----

I'm pretty darn happy right now with the way that things are going... OM's head is almost on my mantle! I can feel it!! My biz card just may have been the kill shot. smile

Denver,

I am not taking anything away from this most awesome night.

Controlling emotions is usually preached for bad ones, anger and such, but its also for the good ones.

Don't gloat.

You know how to kill a vampire?

Stake in the heart, cut the head off, fill the mouth with Holy Communion, Burn the body, gather the ashes and drop them into a body of running water.

Stake in the heart isn't the time to gloat.

I want you to consider this.

Your W said that OM was going to back off while you both figured this out.

Don't trust this guy to play nice and follow rules.

Cause they guy who decked out your wife's place on Valentines Day, ain't the guy giving her space while she figures this out.

Be mindful, and if you underestimate your enemy, it will cost you.

Point taken Jack.

Yes, I am considering this. Also, my W and I have not had a conversation about that since Valentine's day night. I do not know where that stands exactly. I have an idea, but not sure.

Is why I used the word 'almost' when referring to OM's head on my mantle.

Please keep keeping me in line though!

Although I did crack up when I read your post bc, for some reason, I was expecting you to be Debbie Downer after my post tonight!!!

Maybe that should be your new name here. The MOD Debbie Downer??

LOL... smile

J/k man!!

Thanks again.
