Funny you suggest that he's hiding something---he told me he couldn't trust me! (I think that's because he blames me for our credit card debt)

It's script, plain and simple. We could all find fault and lay out some twisted case whereby "everything is your fault". Usually there are kernals of truth, but a severe perversion of proportion.

For instance, you ran up our credit cards, so you're to blame for me leaving to hook up with old flames.

Blow that off. All you can do is agree with them. "yep. I agree H. You are not happy and your behavior is unacceptable to me. So I think you ought to go. You want to be gone and I support that. YOU, should file since it is the only way for you to be happy, BTW.

Will you need to store anything in the house while you get set up? I'll make some room for your stuff in the garage. Oh, you don't want to share a house or bed with me? I think that's for the best as well. By all means do go wherever you feel comfortable. As this is our home, I don't feel like leaving. I like it here, so I'll be moving back in when I get back to town. You are welcome to stay, but I understand if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Good luck in your home search.

Be sweet and cheerful, but firm as beadrock.

This stuff sucks for sure, but it's the only way to protect your self respect and maybe change his tune.

Boy, another old girlfriend scenario. That should be considered part of the script now.

He's living in a fantasy world gbee. Believe me, I know. I did it to my wife. F-A-N-T-A-S-Y.

GB,
When you have time please post in the MLC forum or at least read through the resources. I am not an expert but your H shows the classic signs of a MLC.

My H walked out on me after 2 weeks after re-meeting an old girlfriend he dated in high school 40 years ago.

Be sure to take care of yourself.

Ok, I just wish I could turn my brain to the "off" position, feel like I'm thinking too much...

H had his out of town "date" w old GF yesterday and called me today to tell me he's back (at the house) and asks if I have any questions. Questions? ! I said "No questions" but was thinking What, he wants me to ask him about his day yesterday! OMG! I felt like I was going to have an anxiety attack. He sounded pretty cheerful so I'm assuming it went well.
HELP!
