So, now the other guy who's also going to this wedding and was in the same boat as me got out of going to annual training because he can't trade days yet again with his xw. He has 50% custody and front loaded the days he was going to be gone to Hawaii, so has them from this Friday thru next Sunday. Which is of course the time we're supposed to be at AT.

So, now I don't even have a buddy to carpool down with!

I even told my boss that was a problem because my car needs major work and isn't safe to drive on the freeway as is. I have quotes, but just haven't gotten the work done. His reponse...let me get you the info for this mechanic I know. Otherwise you'll have to rent a car. WTF? Why are my excuses never good enough?

Ugh, how frustrating.

I had a buddy who was called up from reserves for a year, and his company decided to give away his position. When he tried to come back they told him tough luck. A quick call to the Fort Hood lawyers and he had a desk the next day. Right next to the guy they hired to replace him.

So what I'm saying is, sue their asses Michelle!

Lol. Suing the military doesn't usually go as well as the civilian employer. Especially when they are in blatant violation of the law which says they have to save your job for you. However, there is only kind of a notice requirement for military leave, at least in the federal law. It says notice must be given, either orally or in writing, by the employee. It doesn't say it has to be at least 2 weeks or any such thing unfortunately.

You could start a campaign to try to....unionize the military.

Just kidding, but you have to laugh at the thought of soldiers going on strike.

My car gets fixed Thursday. Should be about $850. I was gonna have no credit card debt after this month. So much for that.

I might just pull some money out of my savings and pay it off anyways. I can put money back into my savings account after the Army pays me hopefully.

Car was dropped off this morning. Will be done by closing tonight if all goes well, which is good since I need it tomorrow. Be nice to have the work done though.

Had to finish a bunch of house stuff before I leave. Got the sprinklers fixed last night, also went shopping for some of the things I need to take with me.

Tonight is date night with Roger. I'm glad we're doing it because I won't see him for a week and a half, but I have so much to do to prepare still.
