Mishka, she's becoming more and more like her mom. Her mom bemoans her fate all the time and it's always someone else's fault. When STBXW's dad was alive her mom just blasted him all the time when he wasn't there. I know because I lived with them for a year to save up money for the wedding. It was about as bad of a marriage as you can have that didn't involve drugs or physical abuse. They just hated each other.
Then he died and he became a saint.
So yes, when she loses her temper she calls me names around the girls. It's what she grew up watching. D11 talked about it yesterday.
I told her when her mom gets really mad she says things she doesn't mean and I will never call her names and if I do D11 is supposed to tell me I'm wrong immediately.
My goal is to teach by example. If you have one parent always flying off the handle and spending herself into oblivion and another never saying a bad word about the other parent, trying to keep an even keel and always planning ahead financially, I'm hoping they'll follow the positive example.
I'm no saint. The day I received the divorce filing I called her up and we got into a heated argument. But I sent an email a day later apologizing for yelling and swearing and saying I would not do that again.
And I haven't.
Looked at the summer schedule. I have the girls the second, fifth and seventh week of the summer and on the last day of summer break (a Monday). Plus I have them three weekends in June, two in July and two in August. It's going to be a very good summer.

Would you believe I only ever saw one episode of Sex in the City? I've never seen the first movie so I really don't see the point in seeing the second one. Maybe I should start renting the series so I can see all of it.
Have fun!

Hope you enjoyed it! Mish I have seen maybe 3 episodes of the show? But my sister and I watched the first SATC movie over Easter weekend and I enjoyed it even though I didn't know all of the backstories. So I will prob catch this one on DVD...if I had some of you around I might even go to the theater for it!
"But yes, sitting in the middle of five single women was fun."
rub it in, rub it in more...won't you?

Well, the weekend just changed up. The company I work for occasionally putting on running races doesn't need us for the weekend.
So instead of Madison, Wis., I'll be around home. Now, this isn't all bad. I know of a group of people going out tomorrow night and a few are single. We went out five weeks ago and it was fun. So Saturday is good.
A friend may have a cookout Saturday afternoon. That would help. If not, a person from this church group that I'd really like to get to know better after the divorce is a greeter at the 6 p.m. service so if the cookout doesn't happen I could head there and "accidentally" bump into her.
Sunday is an open book though.
The downer is this would have been my weekend with the girls and I traded with STBXW to be available. So I can't switch back. That means more time with girls in June -- but I really needed the money. Oh well. I'll just have to be more creative with the girls in June.
Everything happens for a reason, right?
