glamgirl...I had 2 brothers so they did all the yard work and I helped Mom in the house...I will dig deeper for the patience!!!
SA-sorry to see that your H chose OW over D's. I think that is what is happening with my kids next weekend. H says he is busy so can't see them next weekend...that will be a month since he last did something with them!
Mila-wish I had seen what you wrote earlier so that I could visualize H as the weeds!
We can't get the tiller going now so just going to hop in the tub and soak...it is unseasonably warm and humid today...ick!

Make him jealous! I know when my ex came back to get his stuff out of the house, I had the place looking great, inside & out. Mostly outside, he even had the nerve to ask me if I got my dad to help me. I told him no, that I did it all myself! And, I'm still doing it all myself, granted, it's not easy!! But, he told his brother & sil that the place would look terrible, that I wouldn't keep it up & it would be all grown up & everything. His sil told me that she was so glad that I had it looking so good when they got here b/c of what he had told them. He did tell me everything looked nice.
Oh, I bought a battery operated tiller, black & decker, it's not a big one but I don't need anything big. So, you might check into it & I also got a B & D weed eater, works great! And, I can handle them all by myself!
Thanks nlt for the tips! I do have an electric hedge trimmer that I will try out when the blooms are gone!
My yard is huge and has big old trees etc so really becomes a jungle if I don't keep on top of it!
When H first left, I went through phase of cleaning and throwing things out and re-did my room and then when he filed for a D, I kinda lost that momentum but feel it coming back! The garage needs to be cleaned out badly but am a little nervous to mess with H's stuff! He'd hate that I moved stuff.
Sounds like you are doing great nlt! I am not sure I want the responsibility of taking care of this house!

I have an electric hedge trimmer & that is what I cut my cable TV wires with this past weekend. ugh! Anyway, I have hedges that my ex hated trimming & now I know why, I hate them too!!! They are 90ft long, 3ft wide & 7ft tall. NOT FUN! Especially when it is so hot. I trimmed them all last summer. If I could afford it I would cut them all down & put up a privacy fence. Maybe one of these days. It is hard keeping up a house. I didn't do anything to mine until my d was final & I knew I was getting the house.
The most I've done is some things that my ex didn't finish, I have done things that he would not think I would or could do. I wish he could see.
I think once I knew this house was all mine then I got busy. Maybe you can get that momentum back once things move forward some more. I just hung in limbo for a while & thought about things I wanted to do. I actually made a list & that helped!
Hang in there, you can do this! You have been so strong, it's ok not to be strong all the time.
Sorry to hijack this thread, ALL, but please advise... which WEED WHACKER? WHIPPER? Seriously!! I got the grass done today, but the edges look terrible. I need to buy one and I have NO CLUE! Something simple, but the yard is pretty deep so an extension cord is probably too tough.
SCh, Go to the hardware store or the lawn and garden section of a department store and get one of the folks who work in that section, and tell them what your looking for. Tell them that it is for you and you need something powerful enough to get the job done, but something that you would be able to use with relative ease. Have them explain how to replace the string or whatever it uses to cut the weeds. They should be able to help you.
Let us know what you get and how you like it. Good luck!
Thanks SA, I really appreciate the advise, and gosh does this ever seem silly. There are so many complex things I can do in this world, and yet I'm lost over doing the simplest house chores, how to even start to approach them! Thank you
Secondchance, it's not easy but once you do it, you will be so proud of yourself! I'm sure it would seem silly to some but really it's not! It's something we have to deal with & if we don't know how then we just have to tell people, I don't know what I'm doing, can you tell me. Most of them time they will help! I know I had to change the water filter on the ice maker, I got the model number & everything, went to the store, they didn't make them anymore, so the salesman gave me the one that replaced it & it looked different. I just told him that I had to do this by myself, could he please give me details on what I needed to do. He took it out of the box & showed me everything, it was very simple once I got it home & did it but at the store I didn't think I would be able to do it. I was proud & he was very helpful. Most people are & most understand.
