I really like this thread. I used to be like many husbands and left the house to my W. Now that she is gone I have no idea how she did everything she did. Its not the actual work that is difficult its the fact that it never ends. Kind of like painting the Golden Gate bridge. As soon as one side is done you have to start over.

Think you really need to work with your kids and get them involved more in the day to day. I know I do.

Take the golf lesson if thats what you want to do. Nice thing about golf is you really cant embarrass yourself cause we all suck.

Yes....the work never ends, and from the looks of H's house (when I've been there) I think he has a "new" understanding of what I did----not that it matters.

I will put "getting the kids involved" on my goal list and get to work on that as well.

I like the idea of golf because it seems like a "relaxed" sport....but still active. H and I did some golfing before we had kids----nothing serious, but it was fun. I'm either going to try to get D16 (her BF golfs) interested or some friends to join me----to help conquer the embarrassment (because I'm sure I'll suck more than most).

If you can find a league that a great way to meet new people while making sure you set aside time to play. I did that last year with my church. Met some great guys despite the fact I was generally a miserable person to be around then. Even went on a golf weekend with several. I'm looking forward to playing in the same league this year if it ever warms up!!

Nice thing about golf is once you get the hang of it you can go out by yourself. If the courses are quiet it is a good get away, or else you get put in someone elses group and you "meet" other people"

Yes. Of all types and abilities. Great way to go if you want to learn to play as it gets you out and on the course. I find when I'm not in a league I may play 3-4 times a year. In a league I play at least once a week plus I tend to hook up with other players during the week. If you decide to take a lesson or two talk to the pro.

As for the snow I don't mind. The cold is starting to get to me. Just can't get warm. My best friend is a space heater under my desk.

Yeah - the I am always cold! We had 24 inches of the stuff between Christmas and 2nd week of January. Most of it has melted off, but I do not have 4 wheel drive and live on a very hilly rural road----I do not like to drive in it at all!

Today I decided to implement my goal of 5 minutes of meditation after my work-out.............set the timer wrong, and ended up sitting for 11 minutes (before I decided it had been more than 5). I am going to need a lot of practice to be able to turn my mind off......but I'm going to work on it.
