Oh forgot to mention, met up with the X-ILs today. Had breakfast, exchanged gifts. It was nice to see them.

That combined with the New Year's text just threw me off though. I am still figuring out the new nuances of the Rs. Things are definitely different.

Hey Michelle

I'm not surprised receiving that text threw you.

Congrats on the nephew! That really is exciting news and I'm so happy for you.

Race was okay. Got a WICKED side cramp. So ran about the same as I did in November. I was hoping to shave a couple minutes off. Ah well.

Still, a good way to start the new year.

My friend did it with me. She walk/jogged it. Finished in 48 minutes and some change! Very proud of her.

Went to breakfast afterwards. It's been a pretty good day.

I have to admit it's not something I enjoy terribly much some days.

But it is a necessity of life in the Army. My physical fitness test involves a 2 mile run, so I have to keep in shape. Doing some 5ks has been a good motivator for me to get my butt out and run lol.

Good grief! I have lost a few threads apparently!

#1 - Yes, my fault on the locked thread! Sorry smile

#2 - Congrats on the nephew! What a joy!

#3 - Text from the x - it would have been stranger if it hadn't thrown you. There are still a few unfinished pieces of your R left hanging and it's still a little soon after the D for it not to have an impact. Glad you've moved beyond it though.

I'm totally impressed by the running too. I've never been able to run. I can't even jog in place most of the time - kills my knees. I did a lot of damage to them when I was younger and a competitive skater. Bad ankles too from too many sprains.

Regret is an ugly thing. I am sure XH is probably regreting now, but you are doing so well. You have come out of this and started a new life.

If I was being chased, I would curl up like a potato bug and pretend to be dead. I can't run at all...

Im still standin better than I ever did looking like a true survivor feeling like a little kid Im still standin after all this time and Im picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind..

Ugh. Yeah. Running is definitely hard on the joints. I try and do trails sometimes, or asphalt, cuz concrete just pounds the knees. That's one reason I don't do long distance. 4 miles is about my limit. I am totally amazed and flabbergasted by people that run half and full marathons. *shakes head*

I still haven't replied to the text. Don't know what to say.

The car thing is still possibly an issue. But he's so unresponsive I don't think that asking again will help.

Not to mention that tax money from 2007 refund he still owes me. *sigh* Not that I really expect to ever see that, but in that big letter he wrote he said he wanted to give me the money. Of course, that was the last I heard of that lol.
