Way to go Karen. I remember my day in court was long and exhausting, and I was just glad when it was over. I think the judges are so used to hearing every story you can imagine (kinda like DB site) that nothing 'shocks' them anymore. And the job thing...whatever. Wasn't meant to be. I like the proctologist answer tho. Or tell them you were in your girlie appointment. Something better is headed your way. Peace. p.s. Now, feet up - and relax...
I just have to share: My L just emailed me this: Ok, I don't think she has high expectations of me generally speaking.
I just had to praise you again for your fine testimony at today's hearing. I have to confess I expected you would become confused; intimidated; ramble a bit; and answer questions you weren't asked. Instead, you showed you were thoroughly prepared; focused; ready to demonstrate your love and concern for your children; and unafraid of anyone at the table. In short, I think you were awesome!
I'll talk to you later, but just had to e-mail and tell you how proud of you I was today!
So the L finally sees the light! (the light of Karen's brilliant kindness and shining ingenuousness [is that a word?]) ... after taking her for granted for so long. It would have been nice if she'd come around a little sooner, of course.

The judge said basically everybody that's married nowadays has affairs and texts their OP during a failing marriage. He said only if he and OW had been fornicating in a room next to the kids would he consider that! Like there is not much moral fitness anymore, I guess he's saying....
If a judge presides over such a messed up legal system so long that they become that jaded, then perhaps it's long past time they step down -- don't you think? In fact, I'd say their judgment is pretty darn screwed up.
And he's an acquaintance of your H?
Long ago, I used to love watching L.A. Law, but now I want to take a shower every time I even think about L's and our so-called justice system. (Nothing personal to those out there in that profession, BTW.)
Speaking of great job, the job called me back today and did offer me the full-time job! I'll be on probationary status for a year, but great pay and free health insurance and stuff like that. Will have to look into afterschool for D10, and X says he will take off at least a week of the Christmas vacation with them (yeah since his alimony is going to be reduced or eliminated he's being nice to me). Have to go get fingerprinted tomorrow, but they said they would send the written confirmation out to me. So wow! Good thing I didn't use Dday's proctologist remark!
Wow! See wonderful things do happen but I still don't see how that changes his alimony by much. Florida must be screwed up if that is true!! congratulations!
