sorry to be the bearer of bad news - but those were some of my symptoms with gallstones. If it happens again, get a sonogram and they can see if you have gallstones - only remedy is removal of gallbladder....sorry!
Love the renovating story and loved the meaning behinf it. Believe it or not my wife and I were talking about extending our home. Like you this means a lot to me as when she left the house one of the things that hurt most was her sau=ying how much she hated it and how much nicer her rental place was. Now I here how much she hated the place she is in and how much she is looking forward to moving home. We cant get back into it until Feb next year because I had to rent it out when she left. So this will be smething for us to look forward to.
So Im thinking about putting a second story on which will be basically a bedroom and retreat. We were lucky with this place as it is 5 mins from the city in the hills surronded by trees but still looking out over the city. It was our dream house and to me it will be the final closing of our sweperation when we move back into it.
Look after yourself and I hope your 'upset' is nothing serious.
Andrew

Okay Shiny - not to freak you out or anything, but gallbladder is definitely a possibilty. Also, do you have any risk factors for heart disease? That can sometimes present like this also. Check it out with your doctor.
Would gallstones not show up on exrays or a CT scan? I've had both in the recent past.
AS for heart disease...weeelll...my maternal grandfather dropped dead of a massive coronary at age 49. My Nana has had congestive heart failure for about 20 years.
My Dad has some artery blockage and had a minor heart attack several years ago (he didn't even know it!).
SOOO guess I'll just ask my MD to give me a full physical, it's been nearly two years. I had my cholesterol checked at that time and although the total number was somehwat high, my "good cholesterol" was very high and the bad as well as triglicerides were quite low.
It's so confusing, Ellie, when you have multiple medical problems. I probably let these kidney stones fester for YEARS attributing the pain to my shortened intestine.
One really bad kidney "attack" had me thinking it was a heart attack for sure: excruciating pain radiating down my left flank, arm, chest. I was praying for Grandpa to come take me, I swear!!
Well it's a beautiful day here, warmer even than expected (about 75 ) so why am I still inside!!!?
Hey Shiny. Saw the title of your new thread and had to speak up. Check out my thread in Newcomers - H Unhappy and Left. You'll see that one of my H's major reasons for being unhappy is that our house needed improvements. Not that this is my fault, but since he moved out I have been painting, decluttering, and even demolished a wall last weekend! SO don't think that your methods are silly - cuz that means that mine are too.
My H is actually coming over tomorrow night to help remove the studs of the newly demolished wall. After that I am either ordering or installing laminate flooring. If this helps him feel better about our home and therefore better about me - great. If not, then me and the kids have all of these new improvements to enjoy. He even indicated last week that I was making it hard to stay away - between the improvements and the 30# lost in doing them - and I told him "good!"
And I have to agree with everyone - get checked out for gallstones. I think kidney stones have similar symptoms. Regardless, women ignore their health too much and need to seek help at the first signs and not when it becomes a major health issue. Call the doc...

Another night owl, or is it earlier where you are?
Actually, I had a huge kidney stone surgically removed 13 months ago, and have a lower lobe of my kidney full again.
I tend not to ignore my health as it's been pretty seriously compromised by a variety of not-so-fun stuff for 18 years!
That said, will book an app't with my Dr. for next week.
It was a beautiful day here and my plan was to finish my school work (done by 3:30) watch the last half of Dr. Phil and then go outside...work on the front of the house, pick some herbs, dry them (microwave works great) before the next frost....
I COULDN'T get off of the couch. I lay there drifting in and out, totally zonked for THREE HOURS. What is up with THAT???
CJ was sweet. Made most of dinner. Offered to drive me to work tomorrow, pick me up. Go find more paint chips and wallpaper for the diningroom!
Heelloo Shiny, I had to crack a smile when I saw your new thread. It reminded of another Canadian gal that was here last year - Tree2. Her last thread had to do with a complete renovation of the bathroom ... porcelain ... ceramic tile ... the whole works! ... brought about a whole new level and meaning of "Piecing a M". ... and by no means am I implying that this should be your last thread ... unless you want it to be? ... but I guess we all wouldn't mind getting to a point where we no longer have a thread about our sitch, but jump around onto others ... oh wait, don't you have to be a moderator to do that? OK ... JK ... probably shouldn't jab at JJ like that, altho its with the deepest respect.
I sorry to hear that your physical health continue to cause you some greif. For the past 10 years, CAW has been dealing with a variety of ailments - diabetes, back surgery, gall bladder, multiple hernias, panic attacks, headaches, foot pain, etc ... that's its becoming a rare day indeed when it is pain-free, so I can certainly empathize with what you are going thru. May your pain-free days become more consistantly abundant once again very soon.
