Interesting that both sexes do that as a WAS. I'm not trying to put men in down in any way, but it really surprises me more with the woman. Typically, the dad is the breadwinner and the mother is the primary caregiver. Dad's on the norm don't spend as much time with with the children with the mother. I know in my marriage that was the case. Even though I worked full time I was with the girls a lot more than H. He rarely had one on one time with them unless it was softball practice for the girls.
Is it the guilt that prevents them from feeling comfortable enough to do what they normally would have in the past? They can't find time to sit down and carry on a conversation with them to see what is go on in their lives? Either they are carrying on with their own selfish interests or either being the "entertainer". Come on, they are their children, of all people they should have a comfortable relationship with them.
My H tends to pull the selfish mode. I can't remember last time he even took them out to eat just the three of them.
Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they're supposed to help you discover who you are. -- Bernice Johnson Reagon
Hi y'all. Been busy with the play. I'm having a wonderful day today! I took off work and slept in. H took the kids last night for take your children to work day so they're with him. Tonight is the opening night of the play, so cross your fingers!
Just got my hair cut, kind of a Katie Holmes type bob. I've got a job interview at the local community college next Wed. for a pt office assistant, so my hair looks more professional maybe than my old stay-at-home mom cut. They let you take free classes as an employee too, so maybe I'll do that, just take theatre, music, or art for fun, the kind of stuff I didn't take when I was there for a degree. Hope everyone's doing well! Karen
Sounds wonderful! Small changes can make such a difference. I am so happy that it sounds like things are finally starting to come together for you. Look at all that you have done and are doing. You are amazing and I am so lucky to have you as a friend.
Break a Leg! Hugs, kat

Thanks everyone!!! It was long--they were supposed to start at 8 and did an auction before so it started almost 30 minutes late. We did get it down to almost 3 hours so it ended about 11:30. I'm exhausted already. But it was so much fun! I'm just part of the singing nuns so much less pressure than last time. They beefed up the nuns part for some reason and have us sing through much of the play when they did the set changes, and have us going up & down on the balcony so running around for 3 hours. I had a great time, hopefully the audience did too.
One of my fellow nuns lent me a rosary given to her by a friend who passed away and it was blessed by the pope and she's letting me wear it for the plays! I felt really honored to wear it. That was so nice of her!
Today I've got to do the walking job and then play tonight. Tomorrow have to get up early to take D9 to girl scout trip dropoff, then we do the play twice with I'm hoping an hour break in between for dinner. I need to be packing and moving but I guess that'll have to wait until Sunday....Hope everyone's doing well! Karen
