Couldn't you just write "Not at this address" on his mail and send it off. Then he will have to answer why things aren't coming to him as he is accustomed. Yes, I do have a tiny mean streak. wink

and surely it is one of several viable options ..not altogether certain it is the best option but it is worthy of consideration...then again i am in a rather 'not myself' kinda mood at present

I will have to talk to him about it, I mentioned it once and he shrugged it off...a week from today we have to register kids for school so I will need his 'contact address' for that, so that is when we will have that conversation.

Not today, I already had my toilet overflow, the plumber canceled on me until tomorrow...we missed allergy shots for Nathan by 10 minutes b/c I was waiting for stupid plumber who never came...driving to karate after allergy shots i heard a funny noise, pulled car over, a piece of plastic was hanging down under the car and dragging on the road. Luckily my dad works at a car dealership and I was only 3 miles from him when it happened since i was already up in the city. So 30 minutes to get it temporarily fixed and we missed karate... crazy

Then got home finally at 8, MIL showed up with stuff for garage sale. She took 2 hours off work tomorrow am to help me set up. smile I walked her around the yard, showed her all the new plantings I had put in. Nathan said something about the toilet and eventually the toilet and the car were both mentioned. Kids went inside and MIL then apologized to me for her son's behavior. She said she wanted to shake him for the way he has been all these months.

Don't know if she called him or what, but ten minutes later he showed up. Walked around, looked at the new trees, said they were 'great' trees. Then he looked in the garage and told me I needed more tables for my stuff. Said he would be by in the morning with 2 sawhorses and a giant piece of plywood. I told him thanks but it wasn't his problem, the garage sale was my idea...he made a little annoyed face and said, "Just stop, I want to help you, I will bring the table". So I said thanks and let it go...

On a random note I went to storage unit to pick up tables for the sale yesterday. Our full-size mattress set from the guest room, which Dan had borrowed to live at Tom's, was back in storage. Along with a smaller air mattress like you would use camping. So he must be full time living with his mom and dad...

OK so I cut that last post off b/c I heard his truck pull up...I went out and he was unloading a table. I started to thank him and he said, "Oh I am just getting started" in a teasing/sarcasm voice...he brought me four tables.

So I guess I am well equipped for the sale...

that was nice of him. I am pleased that you relented on the intial rsistance to let him help you out with the tables. Maybe next time there won't even be intial resistance ...that, it would seem to me, is the BBJ of old showing herself. Stubborn and prideful. I beleive he has already seen enough of that, so I am glad you were able to back off of it.

alright ..I am done pickin' on ya I think.

God bless you Sis.

Stubborn and prideful vs. taking responsibility for myself and not relying on him when he has taken himself out of the role of husband...

that is the very battle I fight with myself on an almost-daily basis...

I did not ask him for help, he offered, so I relented. But like the toilet, I did not call him. I called a plumber. I don't think it is appropriate for me to expect help from him when he doesn't even live here anymore.

Good job BBJ.

I too struggle mightily with allowing xh to help me with anything. I never ask him to, he just does it and I stopped bristling after a while.

Sorry your day was so horrible yesterday. At least your garden is completed. When you get a chance post the pics on FB for us.
