Yesterday was pretty good. Dan came and got the kids around 6:30. I hung out doing some random house stuff until 7:30, then I went to the Y for awhile, did 3.25 miles, then went to Subway for dinner. Nothing major, just 'me' time.

Came back and they were here, Dan was getting them ready for bed. I jumped in the shower and cleaned up, then came out. Watched Scrubs (always loved that show) and then he left. I had work to do but somehow got sucked into this weird 1980 movie about how the village people were formed. The credits showed Bruce Jenner so I had to watch long enough to see him show up onscreen.

Today the garden center people come to give me a quote on some landscaping, plus allergy shots in Omaha. One week from today, we leave for Disney World!

It is a running joke I have with my kids that "The Enchanted Tiki Room" was far and away the best attraction at Disney. When we were there, I would tease them about going back in everytime we walked by it. "It a Small World" is runner up - I had to go through that twice in a row on my honeymoon.

Yes Dan is tagging along to Disney. He insisted when I said I was going, b/c it will be Sydney's first ever trip to a Disney park. (Nathan went to Disney in CA 17 times in 9 months when we lived there, then I took him to Florida the week after the big bomb in Nov. '07, just the two of us.)

Anyway he wanted to go see Sydney meet the Princesses; it is also Star Wars Weekend, the original actors for Darth Vader and Boba Fett will be there to meet and greet, Star Wars parades, etc. So Nathan is beyond thrilled.

He first said he would get an adjoining room; then once reservations were made, I told him my confirmation # so he could call and get a room adjoining ours. He then said, "Well, there are two beds, right? So we can each sleep with one of the kids...."

I paid for the entire trip out of my half of our tax return. So he is not allowed to bitch about anything. If he doesn't like our room, my plans/dining reservations/etc, too bad. He can buy his own trip and do it again another time...I got the round trip airfare and then a resort package. We are staying at a Disney Resort with free transfers to/from the airport, to/from the parks, and I got the dining plan with 3 meals and a snack each day, included, even character dining. So there is not much to have to worry about once we get there. smile

The only downside is the room I booked (Pirate Themed room at Caribbean resort, the kids are so excited!) has only double beds, not queen or king. So a 6'3" guy is going to be quite crowded sharing a bed with a 6 yr old boy. But, he could have booked his own king suite if he felt like it...

In unrelated news things are going ok. I went and spent some more money on clothes for me and the kids for the trip. And I cleaned out Target's "trial size" aisle getting supplies for the trip. Worked in the nursery at church this morning, then had my mom, dad, and sister over for lunch. Grilled salmon, strip steaks, grilled veggies, and strawberry shortcake. Very nice!

A strawberry shortcake sounds great!

I hope you and the kids have a great time at Disney! If Dan complains about any of the plans, jam a dirty sock down his throat! smile

Jeff, sounds good, but it is supposed to be the "Happiest Place on Earth", right? I intend to just smile and wave if he gets crabby. The theme parks are huge, I can just take Sydney off for some girl time if I need a break from Dan.
