The intriguing line sounds like what a broken hearted guy on a bender might say without the "F@ck it"... or someone who's grudgingly crossed a bridge but is finding their stride on the other side.
Oops.. forgot what my intention was... but I figure the less bitterness I feel, the more love I can accept.
Out of curiosity, is it true that folks nowadays double check credit rating scores, medical histories, etc etc.. when things get 'interesting'?
I don't check anything, I use my judgement.....however, it would not surprise me at all that some folks do check credit ratings. The medical history may be a little touchy in Canada...not sure about the US.
I like the bridge analogy...yes I am slowly finding my footing.
Hey John, I was shocked to hear yesterday about the murder of Arturo Gatti in Brazil. I guess he had marriage problems and his wife is the prime suspect.
He was one of the most entertaining of boxers. Kind of like a real life Rocky Balboa. And he was born in Italy and raised in Montreal.
Yeah, Gatti lived about 5 minutes away from my new apt. looks like his young Brazilian wife is the prime suspect. Word on the street is Arturo was having a very difficult time adapting to his "civilian" life. He had a young child with this woman and was scheduled to attend his sister's wedding in Florida yesterday. I spoke to his uncle a few hours ago and it appears that it is almost a formality before his wife gets formally accused. Makes you wonder sometimes, first McNair and now Gatti. Maybe we should all stay single and mind our own business.
Personally in the McNair case, I say that should send a message to be careful who you are dealing with and karma sucks for the cheating spouse...but I guess I have a dog in that fight, don't I? Sort of a fatal attraction kind of thing.
Don't know much about the other one except they had a young son from the sound of things. Any motive out there?
Apparently they were on a second honeymoon....trying to patch things up. I guess that is not a motive but that is what i have. Moral of the story Kerry.....do not go on vaca with anyone but your kids....especially if things are rocky.
Yeah John I googled it and I saw the second honeymoon thing but I also read he has a history of domestic assault and he had punched her out in the street during a fight (she was also known for being high-strung), then went to the condo and passed out. She killed him while he was passed out, allegedly. Sad story all around, esp w a one year old.
But onto other things, I hope you are doing well this evening! Make sure you stay positive, if that pessimism creeps in I will get my brother woog to come and scold you...
Sad story all around. These folks live on another planet. I guess when you live a certain way for a while, it is difficult to change for some. Come back to earth sort to speak. In a much more tame sense, I am living it right now. i am used to being single. come and go as i please more or less. It will be difficult for me to readapt to a "normal" routine if and when that materializes. I can not imagine being one of these rich and famous athletes after retirement.....
Yes, be careful what you wish for, as they say...with money and fame comes a bunch of bs I do not need in my life!
However as you said you are enjoying the single life. I have a friend, best friend from childhood, who did not have one serious relationship until this past year, and she is 34. She said she got so used to her independence in college and thereafter that once dating turned at all serious she felt 'fenced in', and she preferred the freedom to the commitment. But then she met someone she liked more than her total freedom. So you never know, do you?
Im going to find myself a girl Who can show me what laughter means And we'll fill in the missing colors In each others paint-by-number dreams And then we'll put our dark glasses on And we'll make love until our strength is gone And when the morning light comes streaming in Well get up and do it again
