They aren't looking at possibilities a few years down the road, other than how their life would be so much easier without you in it!
That seems to hold true for me; she sees me the way I have been (admittedly not a real pleasant person) not what I can be. I just need to give her space and time right now and work on myself. 2 weeks into this and things ARE getting better and I feel better about myself. Good luck to you!
