Well, apparently I did not eat as much at dinner as I thought I did. Or maybe it was relative to what everyone else ate! LOL My 11 y/o nephew made a comment about how little I ate and it didn't hardly seem fair that I had to pay full price for the buffet to my sister after they got home!!

I am usually very careful about what I eat and how much. I have become the queen of portion control. In my mind, the important thing is that this is not a diet, but a lifestyle change. Diets get broken, lifestyle changes are permanent. Well, in real life, birthday parties happen, you just have to be careful about how you approach them so that you do not revert to past bad habits. I think I handled it well, especially splitting a piece of cake with my mom that was smaller than the piece we cut for my S3.

You should feel great about your accomplishments! I know for me, I am going to register for the 8k walk for this fall and I cannot wait to do it! That is a HUGE step outside of my comfort zone, but I know I will be more than ready for it courtesy of your help! Thank you again!!

Living God's blessings with grace and dignity~

SMW, I haven't really done anything, just gave advice, anyone can do that. You are the one who has to make the lifestyle changes, and it sure sounds like you are doing just that!! Keep up the great work and keep me posted on your progress!! If I can help, please just ask!!!

I did not feel I have lost belly fat. It is flat belly diet book...you can google it.

I have sort of managed to get the general physical therapy under control.

BH, I have started walking and doing some Pilates, too. I have to move slowly but I think I am on track more or less.

Breton, I think you must have meant to say you didn't feel like you were losing belly fat because I read this from your previous post and thats why I asked.

The new diet I've been working on...well, I do seem to be losing belly fat.

Hope its going well for you anyway.
I am far from being overweigh for my age and height although I did gain some after 50 I guess its my shape that altered and I need to just do some serious sensible exercise.
I did google and only came up with advice for overweigh people anyway thanks anyway.

Breton, Good for you!!! Don't worry about the speed. Is this a race? No its not! Slow and steady wins the race, remember that! I know that you have to be hurting a little doing the pilates, but if you can work through the pain, I think it will help you in the long run. Don't get down about it Breton, we have to endure things. I just found out yesterday that I have to have surgery on my shoulder. I will be out 6 weeks, but we bounce right back!

We don't use age as an excuse for being out of shape or overweight around here! LOL

It started out that I seemed to be losing fat, but then I gained 5 pounds!

But now it is almost all gone, and I think it was water weight.

That said, I haven't figrued out if I have lost weight or if the clothing manufacturer from whom I like to order just changed the way they cut the sizes! (I read this is done on occasion.) I can't seem to find clothes that fit very well. Of course, dealing w/five-pound weight fluctuations does not help....

Breton what do the scales say? I guess you weigh yourself rather or as well as going by how your clothes fit.
I think you are right about the size changes though, they do vary from one shop to another.
I can be anything from an 8 to a 12 UK sizes but a 10 is the norm.

Scale said I gained and lost 5 pounds in one week!

Clothes--as I mentioned, it was puzzling because I seem to be a size smaller. I think I attribute this to clothing manufacturer.
