Gotcha. That's some powerful life experience, I'm sure. Between thoughts like that, and reading some of the horrifying situations on this board, I think my plight is not such a plight after all. Navigating my marriage should be a cakewalk... but it isn't always.

That's another thing I'm agnostic about. I had a rape victim tell me she felt "stupid" claiming to suffer from PTSD because I'd gone to war.

Experiences don't compare that way. It's not apples and apples. It's more like apples and....traffic cones.

What matters is the impact on your life and the way you manage it and/or it manages you -- not the event itself.

Only one absolute in the world: There are two kinds of people in the world, people who believe in absolutes and everybody else.

Only a Sith deals in absolutes.

Yeah, baby! Smiley's Person whips out an actual 21st-century cultural reference! Woo-hoo! I'm still hip! I'm still hip!

(Of course there's a logical fallacy there, since "only a Sith deals in absolutes" is absolute.)

I wouldn't exactly consider using a Star Wars reference a sign of being hip, but that's just me. ; )

LOL. But I thought they called themselves "Trekkers"?

Today I did a GAL activity that was way beyond my comfort zone. My heart was beating a million. I don't want to say what it was because it was a felony in most states, but....

Kidding, of course. But I don't want to talk it lest I jinx it. Suffice it to say, it took all the cojones I could muster.
