Funny, MC. \:\/ Had a good day yesterday. The weather here is horrible so couldn't work and got to spend the day hsing and catching up the kids on assignments for the virtual school S15 attends. Then art club and rushed off to drop off the kids at our halfway point, and realized just before I needed to be at rehearsal at 7. I got there 5 minutes early, told H I had rehearsal in 5 and then basically threw all the kids bags and toys in the back of his car. It was actually cool b/c it took away the usual tension I think, and H was getting on S15 to help out so I could make a faster getaway. \:\) Hope everyone's having a good weekend!!! Karen

Hello, Sweet Karen.

Popping in today to say hello. At work today, but don't feel much like working, actually. \:\)

I'll be in touch.

You do so well at keeping busy. I need to get better at that. I am busy but usually with homework and cleaning and cooking after work. I am trying to fit me time in there.

Went to "Watchmen" today with S16. It was pretty good but a little too much blood for my tastes. then we went to eat and did a couple of errands. Now we are settling in to watch movies, still looks as if it could dump snow at any minute!

keep hanging in there.

Thanks, although sometimes I wish I had a little "couch potato" time, I know GALing is good for me and the kids.

OK, the last couple days we've had bad weather, just bad thunderstorms and tornado warnings. H emails the kids 2 days ago re: how they should stay in the house until noon and not leave b/c of tornado warning. I felt like emailing back, oh shoot, I let them run around outside in the storm with scissors or something, but I restrained myself.

Then today, it's tornado warning again, I have to go before 5 to pick up the kids at the midway point, and seriously it was the worst weather I've ever driven in! But H had a date with OW of course, so you see how important the kids really are to him. It's easy to dash off an email and make himself feel like a great parent, but when it comes down to reality....

Good for me, though, b/c I really really think I've dropped the rope and kicked it away this time. I was kidding H like "what the heck was that?" b/c it was crazy to be driving in, and great weather for a dropoff and everything. I think he felt guilty b/c when I ran in the 7/11 store b/c D9 had to go, he moved my car??? I didn't say anything bout that. I really do have a different attitude as puppy was posting on h's thread, no longer LTRing, b/c I'm just ready to get it over with. So I'm acting friendlier, b/c I just am done.

THese once in awhile things are what H is hanging onto....like tornado warnings. You are the one that is there day in and day out when the kids need a parent. Thank God for you. You, just like so many other LBS, are the ones that are there for your kids when they need you no matter what. Your kids need you, and are so lucky to have you.

You just made my day! I SO needed that laugh.

You didn't just GAL I think you got two or three... It makes me tired just reading your schedule.

You have to do whatever works best for you, whatever you can live with and whatever it takes to look yourself in the mirror.

I'm pretty sure the "Father of the Year" committee is not going to be knocking down his door anytime soon, so just keep on being the wonderful (busy) mom you are and move forward. Sorry that there are so many stressors right now, but there is an end in sight and we just have to continue to move towards that goal.

(((((hugs)))))

I was going to have you tell him that you were saving for a lightening rod for them to play with during storms!! What an idiot your H is! What kind of L is he anyway if he isn't all that bright?

Thanks for stopping by. I don't have guys jaws dropping when I walk by, at least not that I have noticed. Maybe I have tried to shut that radar off for so long, it has developed a short! lol Yes, I do think we will be fine and some lucky guy is going to nab you in a heartbeat.

Hugs, kat

No, but the a-hole DID almost win "Yard of the Month" from Flotsam and Jetsam Quarterly after those storms hit last year . . .
