Life is what we make it. I choose to make mine a good one.
Want to know how far I have come? Either that or how stupid I am? (Dont say you already knew I was stupid)
My stbx called yesterday regarding the kids. We got on the relationship subject and I gave him advice on how to keep his new woman. Don't know where it came from but I told him in a very nice way what went wrong with our marriage and what he needs to do to keep his new gf. We had a really good 20 minute talk regarding our new lives. I think he thinks I'm his new best friend. (He doesn't have many) After all that, I am feeling good. I didn't freak out or anything. I'm growing up too!!!
Hey Trapt, I appreciate you stopping in on my thread. I just wanted to say I admire how you have stepped up and are taking care of your kids. My H claimed to love our kids so much, but he's always too "busy" working to see them. He maybe sees them once every 2 weeks. It is disgusting. I'm glad to see a man that cannot simply "detach" from his children. You sound like a good man.

I have a daughter that is almost 5 and a son who is 2. They keep me hopping. I really love this age. I have 50/50 custody and often more.
One of the positives in all of this is that I have grown so much closer to them. They are unbelievable, I can't remember what I did all of the time before them LOL! It is so amazing to watch and help them develop. I can't believe how fast they catch on to things.
Our spouses will regret what they have missed, you can be sure.
Yes, they will. Even though it's exhausting, I'm well aware that I am the lucky one. They are missing what should be the most important thing in their life, watching their kids grow up.

When I write that I am gratfeul that this happened to me, and I wouldn't change it if I could, that is part of the reason. I'm glad you are seeing the good in this Trapt. : )
It is all worth it down the road, as long as you walk the road carefully.

Perhaps the strangest feeling in all of this is trying to look ahead and not being able to invision a damn thing. Not that I'm Sylvia Brown or anything, (yes I know how you know) but I can't seem to picture where I will be in the future.
So I guess for now I will keep my head up but not so that I will be focused to far ahead. Follow? (I'm even having trouble with that one.)

Although I will not do this again, I would not trade what I have learned from it....
Sylvia Brown! Ha,ha. I don't think any of us can picture where we will be down the road. Right now it's one day and one week at a time. I do know that I am picturing my future without H. I have stopped hoping that it would be how I had always envisioned it.
I am convinced it will be even better. I do have hope, and dreams for the future. I in no way feel like my life is over, and neither do you, so that is good. All we can do is keep plugging along. The future will be good.
