Chris Cornell's first solo is awesome. Carry On was the Album Title.... it took me a few listens to get into after SoundGarden because it was different, but now its one of my favorite albums. His latest Album I can't get into. But his vocals on Carry On are great.
My bad it was Eurporia Morning Album 2000. Carry on is the one I don't like. Eurporia took me awhile to get into but there are a couple of acoustic and a Bluesy song that I like the Most. The Mission Impossible song was the only song that was released.
Sounds like they really don't want to do much of anything, so we decided that we'll go into town, grab some party favors, some sparkling grape juice for them(I have champagne left from last year), and we are going to do our own thing here at home. If anyone wants to come over, then they are welcome to join us. Well roast some marshmallows, and I'll look to see if I have any left over sparklers from last year.
I'm gonna cut some firewood and start the fire pit tonight. No fireworks tonight, which sucks, because there is a ban on them. Can't even be sold out of limits, where I live. We usual spend about $150 on fireworks. The BIG ones, but not this year. Since we live out of city limits, everyone would love coming over our house and doing it up. Our house was always the place to be on New Years.
Not this year. Not with our crap going on.
I told the girls that they are the ones I would much rather be with, anyway. We'll have our own fun, together. Our little family that is left. I wish S14 could join us, but he'll be with his dad.
Haven't heard from the wife, but if she calls, she'll be welcomed, if she is so inclined.
We'll see. Things are so different. 2009 HAS to be better.
I know the wife still hasn't paid her TW bill, so she still has no access to her Yahoo, which means she still hasn't seen my email that I sent her last Saturday.

Well, the girls and I had fun yesterday, a bit boring, but fun. We went shopping and picked through some party favors. Not much left. The wife ended up calling and I let the girls answer it. She was still at work at 3:34 and still had another client to see. I could hear them telling her that we were just going to stay home. She says that she'll call back when she was done. Thirty minutes later she calls and talks to the girls again.
D11 tells her that she needs to get her school backpack so that she can start work on a project coming due. After some back and forth with me while talking to her mom, she asks if we could go after we shop to pick it up. The wife says to come over and get it. She should be home soon.
After we finish at the grocery store, which was a mad house, D11 was rushing me to get home so she could start watching her programs.
Rushing me, she made me forget ( ) to stop by the wifes place. We were singing songs so loud that I missed a call from the wife. While stopping to get gas, I checked the VM.
"Did ya'll forget or what? Hellooo? Give me a call."
I dialed her up and gave the phone to D11. They talked. She tells her that we are already heading home. I'm sitting in the car and purposely say aloud,
"Okay. Where are we going?" I was giving D11 a chance to say to go ahead and to to the apartment. She didn't. "Just go home!" She wanted to watch her programs.
D11 then gives the phone to D11 and they talk for a bit. I whispered to D7 that she could invite her mom if she wanted to come. She did and I could hear the wife telling her that she was invited to a co-workers house for the night, but that she would call her tonight on what she decided.
I later told D7 to not expect her call.
And she didn't disappoint.
I grilled us some steaks, made a spinach/cheese dip, a baked brie, we made a Red Velvet cake and I let the girls watch their Disney Channel shows all night.
Woo hoo! We watched some Dick Clark. Wow! I had no idea. The girls kept asking why he was talking like that. I told them he had had a stroke, it looks like. They asked what that was.
I said, "Hello! Thats what happened to mom."
We watched it turn midnight on the show, which was an hour early for us. I got a bit emotional watching it. I then told them to get ready because we were going to watch fireworks somewhere. I went to a spot that I used to go 'parking' at in high school. It in the town we live in. We called it 'Bitch Hill' because at one point, your driving on an upgrade approx 45 degrees. High up in the hills. Its an empty lot that has a view of San Antonio that is spectacular. Like a little cul-de-sac. It was blocked off, so we walked up to the spot, about 30 yards. They were impressed. We got to see the fireworks at Six Flags, that are near, all the downtown fireworks in the distance, as well as some at a couple Air Force bases. We toasted with some Sparkling Pear drink and I told them Happy New Year and that it was going to be a great year.
They agreed with me.
I got a VM from S14 a couple minutes after midnight. I tried calling my parents, but couldn't get through. I found out later that I think all cells phones were acting up. Probably the amount of usage. Got a text from B. Got through to my sister.
Nothing from the wife. That upset me. At least call the girls. SH*T! How hard is that? Must be having way too much fun to bother.
We get home and they hit the sack. I'm up at 8 and mull around. At about 9:30, I get a call from the wife, which I took. I thought about letting it go to VM, but didn't.
She says Happy New Year, but pretty matter of fact, her serious voice. I say the same. She asks about the girls and I let her know that they are still asleep. She says, "Awww". She asks if they were able to stay up last night, and I let her know that they did and that we went to watch fireworks. She says "Oh, thats nice".
She says that she just wanted to call the girls. I tell her,
"Well, D7 was waiting for your call." "I told her I'd call her." "Yeah, she kept waiting for your call last night." "Well...I didn't call."
Yeah, no sh*t.
Lots of dead air in our conversation. I was not being talkative. Felt like she was waiting for me to initiate. I didn't. She asked what we were going to do today. I told her that my mom had invited us over to eat some bbq and we'll do that later.
She says that D11 wanted to pick up her school backpack to start work on a project coming due when they get back. I just tell her ok. More dead air. She says to have the girls call her when they get up and again, I just say ok. She said something I couldn't understand and I just tell her bye.
It is now 11:30 and the girls are still out.
In the words of Eddie Murphy in 'Trading Places'...
MERRY NEW YEAR!!! HAHAHAHhahahahah!!!!!!
