YR,

I'm so happy to hear that your Dad came thru surgery & did well. I know that is scary about the pacemaker but that will help him so much & I think make him feel much better.

I'm so glad they are getting a nurse, that will be a huge help for your mom. Now, when the nurse is there she just needs to take it easy & rest.

Thoughts & prayers are with you & your family!

Thanks for the encouragment. The pace maker I am not worried about. If his heart is beating so fast, it will correct it. I know the surgery for that is quick, thank goodness.

My dad called my mom this morning which is something different since he has been in the hospital. He did want to talk to anyone and now I really feel like he is healing somewhat. I know it is going to take time for him to recover. I think he finally gets that too.

I am pleased that they decided to get the nurse. My dad and mom don't need any more stress right now, so that will take some of the pressure off my mom.

He will be fine. My heart tells me so!!

YR,
I'm not surprised to hear about the heart rate. My father had the same thing happen after 5 bypasses and a valve replacement. His surgeon explained to him that this happens sometimes because the heart has been use to working extra hard from the blockages, etc. and it takes a while for it to get back into a "normal" beat. He didn't have to have the pacemaker put in, but his medications had to be adjusted and he stayed an extra 5 days before they allowed him to come home.

Your father will be okay. He's in good hands and the pacemaker may be what he needs. He's going to be sore for a while from the original surgery, but when he gets home, he's still going to have to take it easy.

I'm glad to hear that a nurse will be visiting them. This is a good step in the right direction. Prayers are being offered up each and every day from this home front.

Thanks for helping through this really hard time and all my craziness!

I think that the pace maker will help. It will slow his heart rate down and maybe even make him more comfortable. They say they are releasing my dad tomorrow night. I think he will feel so much better at home because you know how hospitals are, you can't get any rest. He is so tired and wants to go home. He promised me that he would do as the doctors and nurses say and not over do it. He needs to rest and get his strength back slowly.

Thanks for sticking with me through this!

YR,

You have stuck with us thru rough times & we are here for you! If he will do what the doctors say then he will be fine. My Mom had the same thing years ago, but she didn't have to have a pacemaker, she did very well & thru the Grace of God she is still doing well.

I'm thinking about you & praying for your family!!
