Update on my dad. He made it through the surgery today. Thank the Lord! He is in ICU until his next surgery on Monday. He is joking with the nurses so I know he will be alright.
Now one more surgery to wait through!
I want to thank you for all of your prayers. I know that God is watching over him!
YR, I'm very happy to see that your fathe made it through the first surgery. He will make it through the second as well. Your father is a fighter and will make it through the next surgery. I think you are very wise in waiting until he returns home. Your parents will need your assistance and support at that time.
As always, keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. The waiting is actually harder on you and the family than on your father.
Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
Thanks for stopping by!!!! Yes, I think my dad will make it through the second one too. I talked to him today and he was giddy!!! He was joking and he sounded so good on the phone.
We might not even have to back to Colorado. My brother is down from Denver and my sister has taken off work to help them and is staying at their house. The doctor asked my mother if she is going to be able to take care of my dad. She said yes even though her health isn't the best. The doctor said their insurance will pay for a nurse to come in and take care of my dad if she needs it. If he bounces back after the next surgery like he did this time, I think mom won't have any problems. The next surgery is more serious and tramatic.
YR, I would suggest that your parents have a nurse come by to check on him when he returns home. Your mother will want to take care of him herself, but if her health is a bit off, it's best to have someone come by. The nurse will not only check on your father, but he/she will be there to answer any questions that your mother may have about your father's care.
I'm also happy to see that your family is stepping in to assist them. It's very difficult for everyone when something such as this occurs. It's good that your brother and sister are w/them at this time. Your turn will come when your father returns home. If you are anything in real life like you are on this bb, your father will have an excellent care taker. Get some rest, for you will be traveling again very soon to be with them.

My mother is a very stubborn woman to say the least. I hope the doctors and my brother and sister insist that a nurse come by. I think it will take some pressure off my mother.
I am a born care taker! I guess it is because I worked in the health care field for so long and taking care of my D all these years. I am also the biggest worry wart there is, hence all the ulcers!!!! LOL
