I only signed up for one art class. It wasn't even what I was thinking it was. It's a mosaic window class. I have to start breaking and collecting a lot of glass and find an old window pane, still in the frame somewhere. But, I think it'll be fun and I just have to decide what room I want this in. I may make it big enough to be a headboard for a twin sized bed.......

I decided to wait until next session to take another artsy class. It may be photography. (no Beth, not pornography)

It's tough trying to be retired. I told MG that I have no talent. All I know how to do is work so I'm refusing to work any more and I'm going to learn how to play and be retired. I'm going to keep trying different hobbies until I find something I love.

Even went and got a library card today. Maybe, I'll become a flasher at our itty bitty lil library!!! Then again, we do have a state prison in town so I could just hang outside the fence and flash the guys........I must start somewhere with this fun/hobby thingy......However, camping is not my new hobby.

Naej, I don't know if I'd get X's life ins or not. I don't know if he ever changed his will or not. As unorganized as he is, I'm betting he hasn't. Then again, if he's as broke as he says, he's prolly stopped paying on it anyway.

And...........the bar in Jillville is always serving!!!!

Leisure is not all what it is cracked up to be unless you are trained in it. Most Americans are not but that is why we are the currently most vibrant culture. However I believe Europeans enjoy life more on average.

Hi Queenie,

I think I can relate. Having too much unstructured time partially contributed to my depression this summer. I like to have a *little* bit of a schedule to work the other stuff around.

Just a thought.

Of course you could be working on your memoirs with all that leisure time...but then we would have to burn them!

Ahhh Jilly, you DO have talents, its just well, they may be illegal in most states.

Isnt it funny we always dream of being retired , but when it happens its like, so what now??
My mom growing up, always told me half jokingly, when your father retires, i may have to leave him lol-- hed go crazy home all day and is not allowed to play golf! So he does his lil part time gig and is handyman for the neighbors, and me

I like your idea of the classes, they sound great! and ya know Jilly you may stumble across something you really enjoy-- Maybe not look so hard- You are so vivacious tho, and engergetic ( or as B says eagergetic) I cant imagine you sitting home watching reality shows,,,oh you do! lol well ya know.

I am sure something will just hit you out of the blue and you'll say this is it!! oh and dont forget, we have grandkids to plan for!!!! \:\)

You will get used to it am sure, Jill.

Taking classes is great idea.
And...you will get so that you you don't know where your day went. Go for coffee, shopping, reading some books you didn't get to read, going to matinees at the theatre, catching up with friends, etc.

Sooooooooo, today I realized that only a day and a half remains til I go to court. I will be seeing X for the first time in months!!! I'm not at all nervous about seeing him, tho, he'll have a guilt inducing look of disapproval on his face. I'm nervous about testifying in front of everyone that happens to appear at that time.............But...........I will take a Xanax (1/2 dose) and gird myself for the ordeal!!!!

In the meantime, I just got done making Asparagus Soup and it is delish!!! Don't know why but I'm in a soup mood. Made beef/veggie last week. Tonight I'm making Perch for dinner. I've never really gotten into cooking much but lately I'm on a culinary rip!!!

So, any ideas on how to keep my nerves at bay other than drink and drugs??? Not that I'm opposed to that.............
