n,
Treasure the time you are spending w/your father and learn all that he has to share, no matter how small or large the wisdom is...listen, for it will help you in the years to come. Your posting reminded me so much of what my father and I use to do after my xh left as well.

It sounds like you and your father have "mastered" the vinyl siding and it will definitely help w/keeping wood rot at bay. But, if your father tires easier these days, encourage him to take breaks along the way.

N, you are learning so many new things and just think, your h doesn't have a clue about all of this. You have so much to be proud of. Yes, you do miss your h, but you wouldn't want him the way he is right now. In years to come, he may mellow out and return the person you once knew. I do hope that he does and comes to realize what a jewel he had for a wife.

Please take care of yourself. Do not try to over do it this weekend and that goes for your parents as well.

Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to.

I am so proud of you. Your ex does not sound all that happy. His new life fantasy is not playing out how he thought - what a surprise. Keep showing and giving unconditional love.

Reality will bit by bit sink in. Unfortunately it takes so long.
Value all the wonderful people in your life.

Thank you for all your support on my sitch....

Hi nlt,
I am glad that your parents are with you.

My H used to be so angry with everybody as well. Even when he was with OW he got really mad at just small things that did not go the way he wanted. That's MLC for you!

Take care and have a nice time with your parents. (((HUGS))) xxx

Hi snodderly!

Thank you so much for the support!!! My Dad was really tired last night but tonight I'm the one so tired I can't hardly move! He took several breaks today, we are not done b/c we ran out of the siding but it looks sooooo good!!! I keep wishing my H could see it now & see what all I've done since he has been gone. I really think he would be surprised & impressed.

You are so right, I do not want him the way he is right now. I hope he will mellow out & return to the man I married. That man was wonderful & I miss him so much!!!

Thank you for saying I was a jewel, that makes me feel really good. I don't know if I am but it makes me feel good for you to say it!!!

I grilled hamburgers for us tonight & my parents really like them, but I'm so tired!!!! My Mom's birthday is next Friday & I probably won't see them next weekend, so I made her a cake today also. I tried something new & it didn't turn out very well. I think it may taste good but it looks terrible! As my parents always say, "we'll never know it in a 100 years". I am really enjoying them being here this weekend!!! It is helping me so much!

You had quite a productive day. When it is all done, you can do some nice decorating, etc.

I think you need these type of days to give you a fresh and clear mind. It helps.

Hi Trusting!

I hope you are doing well & taking care of you right now!!! I haven't had any contact with my ex but he doesn't sound happy, does he? I hope he is starting to see a few things by now, it may take a while.

I do have wonderful people in my life! My parents are so special to me!!! They just bought a new truck, my dad is so happy but he also said it was crazy to buy one at 80 years old. I told him it was not that they worked hard & saved money all their life that they need to do something for them & get something they want. His other truck was 18 years old & it was time to get another one.

You take care of yourself!!! And, thank you for checking in on me!!!

Hi MWG,

Yes, I do believe you are right! It does help. I've done a little decorating so that has helped. I thought about H the whole time I was working on that siding today & just thinking how proud he would be. Well, then again, he is a perfectionist when it come to stuff like that so he may not like what we have done. Oh well, it's my house now. Anyway, I think it looks really good for us not to know what we were doing. My mom says it looks professional! I also think it looks good!

I hope your day went well. I'm so tired I don't know if I'll check on anyone tonight, it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Thank you all for being here for me!!!

Hi nlt,

Just wanted to say hello. Enjoy every momemt with your parents!

And the others are right - your h is not happy, that explains the anger. Get ready for more! If the moment feels right in the future, ask him if there's anything he'd like to talk about - he may open up to you.

Hi Silver Fox!

I am enjoying this time with my parents. We went to church today & had such a good service. I grilled steaks tonight, they turned out pretty good. Not as good as my H used to do but not bad for me! We had some birthday cake, it doesn't look great but it's really good.

We played cards tonight & watched a movie on TV, they seem to be enjoying themselves. We got more vinyl siding so we should be able to finish our project up tomorrow, then my Dad wants to change the oil in my tractor, I don't think it has been done in a while. So, I'll help him with that so I can learn how to do it. I can take the mower off of it but didn't ever learn about changing oil. This was my Dad's old tractor, I used to drive it before I could even reach the brakes, he got it in 1966. I left my mark on it, I ran into a tree with it when I was little. But it still works really good!

I think you are right about my H not being happy. If I ever get to talk to him I will ask him if I get the opportunity. Right now we are not in touch with each other at all except for him sending me the alimony checks each month.

Thanks for checking in on my thread.
