Thank you Friends for checking in on me. I'm doing better, but my throat still hurts like heck, no yodeling for me, LOL. Not that I ever could yodel! Those anibiotics need to get in high gear and kick in.
Jak, we've already got two weeks of school behind us! I'm looking forward to the 3 day weekend. I plan on going to a cookout with friends Sunday. We will bbq and sip daiquiris around the pool.
Theo, the soup sounds great, homemade I hope!
Gosh, my baby is growing up. She just left with two of her friends to go spend the weekend at U OF A with one of their older friends. It's scary watching teenagers drive off like that for the first time by theirselves. It's about 4 hours away. First time DD17 has spent the weekend at a college. I guess I better get used to it, next year she'll be living there!

Wow 17... I was just having a "moment" thinking of S5 going to kindergarten on Wed. I can't believe it. He's been home with me for almost 6 years, he's like an appendage.. my shadow. Im going to miss him so much.

Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Glad you are feeling better. You know, of all the phases of motherhood, I think I like this one the least. The "let them go, and pretend you are not worrying about them" phase. I've been getting S19 out of his funk by taking him car shopping. I know, bribery is not the best policy. But it is expedient. Anyway, since he is now in a better mood he told me that I am annoying because I am always trying to be helpful. This should not be taken out of context. I am annoying about school, and his life in general, because I am always trying to be helpful. Helping him buy a car is not annoying. I have found one way to be with him which is not annoying.

I KNOW how you feel!!!! My baby isn't a baby any more!!!!
Hi Yoyo - happy to see the Playhouse is opening up again. Hope you are feeling better.
I talked to both of my girls a few times yesterday. They were both having a good time.
I know I will get whacked by a 2x4, but I just had to go online and see if H was also checking on the girls. I can access the girls calls, but not H's because his is a business line. I noticed that my older one (20) called me first when she got to the college and then called her dad. Youngest one (17) only called me. Keep in mind the girls are at the same college, but not staying together. I also noticed that when oldest daughter called him Friday night to let him know she had made it, apparently he didn't answer and called her back a few minutes later. It seems that happens a lot with him, he doesn't answer but sometimes calls back. After that he has not had any communication with her and no communication at all with the youngest. I just don't understand him. I have talked to them about 5 or 6 times apiece since they have been gone. I can't help but worry when they are 4 hours away from me!

Yes, we do worry. S19 took my car and went surfing in the Gulf today because there should be big waves from Gustav. It is passing west of here right now. We have grey skies, but no wind and no rain. D23 is ready for the storm. She sent me an email. I thought it was funny, so here is the content. I had written to her that I heard that the different news channels were giving different reports on how bad the storm would be locally. She said:
"We are not getting conflicting reports, we are all going to die. We don't even have any floaties, so we're going to have to swim and we'll probably be killed by the electric shock from our flashlights. But we have tons of liquor, so at least we will die happy, and unaware."
Storm is now a Category 3 in the Gulf. That is an improvement. It was a 4 yesterday before it crossed Cuba. Let's hope it doesn't gather steam.
