What would he do if you told him repeatedly as soon as he brings up doing lunch or dinner, that the time he is suggesting will not work out.

I was just thinking of a way to respond to him and he called me at work to ask me if I got his email. Funny that he can't wait 30 min for me to reply, but D and I should wait around all weekend to see if he shows? Unreal. I told him I was fine and it's nothing I didn't expect. He said he's really upset about it and asked if we have stomach meds too, but I told him not to be upset since I'm not and we'll talk when we can both find the time. He's upset and I hope he stays upset. When I get home, I'll just smile and be friendly and kindly kick him out without saying so.

or better yet, tell him to write you a letter.

Good idea! I'll tell him to go back to writing his email to me instead. See, we tried that. First he was doing this cowardly thing and cancelling all the time, then I suggested he write an email since maybe that's easier for him. He agreed. Then that went on for months and months and I never got the email and then he said he's rather talk to me face to face. Now we're back to cowarding. I'm sooo done with this. Maybe I can lovingly detach now.

He told me he wrote me an email a while ago. After about 3 months of telling me I was going to get it the next day after he re-read it to make sure it sounded okay, I gave up on it. My C thinks he never wrote it. Duh! I suggested to H last night that he just sends it to me via email, but he said "no, I want to talk" So whatever. Today's the 2 year "anniversary" of him leaving. Happy freakin' day to me!

It will be ok Dar, this month was my 2 year mark too. We will be just fine regardless of the outcome.

Dar do you really need to meet and talk about anything? Just be his friend from a distance. If he says lets meet, your response is thanks h, but no thank you. There is nothing to discuss and then be his friend without any expectations.
