It's hard to say, without knowing more about his behavior, PRE-AFFAIR. People in active affairs often do crazy, crazy stuff (the example I often give of the otherwise intelligent, sane, female astronaut driving across the country WEARING AN ADULT DIAPER to go avenge "her man"), but they were well-balanced both before -- and after -- their affairs.

Maybe it's just that then. He was pretty much normal until about 2 years ago it was, but I'm suspecting that he was having an EA back then though (if not a PA) with that co-worker. They were constantly texting each other and he would call her even in front of me--I was such a trusting idiot back then I didn't even suspect anything! That's when he started name-calling me and yelling every day, & my depression got really bad then too (don't think that helped)! Karen
If he was otherwise "normal" for 16 years, I doubt he has anything other than a severe case of affairus majorus, more commonly known as "I Never Did Love You Anyway, You Know, Syndrome."
Exciting day for me today! They delivered the new refrigerator and stove--I guess H bought them a couple days ago and maybe that's why he's been extra grumpy? The old appliances were broken and at least 50 years old so I am hoping my cooking may even improve b/c the old one was kind of glitchy and I don't think the temperature was right on it. It was kind of crotchety and temperament b/c of its old age! I sent H an email thanking him for them and asking if we have a dolly so S14 and I can move the old appliances outside (they wouldn't take them didn't know they did that)! D8 saw my note and said I don't have a dolly, but I have a lot of stuffed animals though (isn't that cute?)
Then as soon as they left I got a call from one of the 1st jobs I applied to (they always seem to take months to hire): the test proctor job (doctors, nurses, dentists, state contractors, and emts she said) and they conducted a phone interview with me and will do final interviews next week. I have to fill out an application today so will do that and then guess find out if I am a finalist, I hope. I was so nervous the first couple minutes b/c I haven't had a job interview in about 12 years! I probably kissed butt too much b/c I said at the end I hope they consider me for the job and she asked if I had any concerns I might not be able to do some of the job duties (would anyone be dumb enough to admit to that) and I said no, I thought I'd be wonderful in the job!!! I'm glad it's over at least! I figure even if I didn't get the job at least it was good to get the interview practice after so many years!!! Karen
Boy, from my own experience I can say that an A can make someone act like a completely different person. Whether you call it a mental illness or not, I don't think it really matters. You just need to completely disregard what they say and do, pogo sticks and all.
Thanks for stopping by, btw!

(((Karen))) I think you did fine on the interview and like H4H said, you showed confidence...so that was even better.
Glad you got your new appliances.
Good luck on the job interview.
