YES it’s a cookie dough ice cream day. kind of funny but I am about to go strap on a fighter Jet and do some dog fighting but right after I’ll get ice cream and curl up with a movie. It’s just a strange balance in my life right now. I wanted to see that movie when it came out so I think I will go get it.
Julia that is almost exactly how I woke up, I could have sworn she was there. It takes me a few days after seeing her to be able to push her to the back of my mind.

It's a great film, I hope you enjoy it. Wow, the fighter jet sounds pretty awesome. What a great distraction! Hope the cookie dough went down well, I live too far away from shops to get ice cream as it would melt - finally a reason to spur me on to drive!! So I had cookies (or biscuits over here! they aren't like your cookies) and milk. It was pretty yummy.
So today started pretty down, but ended well. As I was leaving work I got some pretty huge professional compliments on my performance. I am one who can take criticism and praise well, I usually just note what the person is saying and try to take it in with little reaction. This time however the praise was way more then i thought necessary and I felt a little embarrassed. I guess I would much rather have that then none at all. It really lifted my sprits and put me in a good mood. I will still go for the cookie dough ice cream just for the fun of it. I have always been good at my job but since she left my concentration and dedication to the job has skyrocketed and it has paid off well for me.

Turned into a great day. Lots of PMA. during I long run today I rediscovered that I really enjoy running, so I came home and signed up for the Las Vegas Marathon in December. This will be my second one. The last one was 5 years ago and I swore I would not do another because one was enough. I remember how accomplished I felt and amongst all my other accomplishments that is the one that I am actually proud of myself for, so why not renew that!!
Cookie dough ice cream and a great movie also helped to do the trick. One other thing, I cooked myself dinner. I have been the one to cook 85% of our meals for the last 8 years or so, we are both great cooks I am just better in a pinch because she likes to take a lot of time and plan it all out. I have not cooked in three months, I have lived off TV dinners and eating out because it just seemed pointless, but today it did not.
Thank you all for sharing your own stories and lives here, so that we all know that we are not alone and it is not pointless.

We're kind of leading parallel lives--the only time I've cooked in the last three months has been when I've had friends over. And I LOVE to cook, loved cooking for H, but I don't really enjoy just cooking for myself. But last night, I made myself this amazing salad with heirloom tomatoes and fresh mozarella. It felt good to make something, even something simple like that.

salmon :op gross!! i love fish but for some reason never liked salmon, I once caught a big fish in the gulf of Mexico and when i was getting it ready to cook, we cut into it and it was full of worms,
you know its better to find a whole inch worm then a half inch worm, so at least there is an up side.
