(((((Jen, Lola, Kalni, girl)))))

The thread two threads ago went to 499 posts, we've got about 50 to go!

Girl, I think you are right. W is one of those people that can't be happy. A book would be great, but no matter where it seems to come from, there's no question about the ultimate source, is there? Besides, you can lead a horse to water... Oh, and I have plenty of faults. But, not in proportion to the way I let myself be treated. I finally figured that out!

Strawberry daquiri, Lola? So, when did you get an office? \:\)

Well, she likes to read, doesn't she? You could buy the books for you and casually leave them out... maybe she'll get curious and pick one up?

Oh, and your wonderful qualities completely cancel out any and all of your faults!

MUCH cooler here today... just 104 degrees. =)

Today it is supposed to top out at 96. Currently it's only like 80. I went outside at lunch, and had the brief thought that I should have left my sweater on! LMAO

(((((Jeff))))) just stopping in for a mojito please! I thought what your C had to say was interesting. I'm inclined to agree with her that W may not want to change/ever have the inclination. What would you do in that case?

I don't know......I want to be positive and believe that the notes/reading books will cause a shift in her. But someone who's so convinced that you're at fault (piffle), and who wouldn't even come to C to help you doesn't sound like they see anything wrong with themselves. For that reason I'd be more inclined to take a direct approach (a radical 180?!). What do you think? I think the little things would be great but she's not responded before (has she?) and it's been 9 months since I started reading your posts!

Wow! I rained an inch and a half last night! And it's only up to 84 now, but climbing, as the clouds seem to have moved out, for now. The monsoon season seems to be off to a good start! And we could use it!

Girl, interesting idea. If I got a book for *ahem* me, and *happened* to leave it out.... Hmmmmmmmm.....

Lisa, you may have a mojito!

I try to stay positive, too, but when you get down to it, people who don't think they have a problem really are not likely to change, are they? I think I will have to go to a direct approach, but I'm not going to enjoy it! Oh, at C I talked about writing something like:
Ice cream Sat night? yes/no

When W said "no", I'd write....
Can I go with someone else? yes/no

Of course, then I'd take the kids!

It was funny, at the time!

What do I do if she show no inclination to try to change, or make things better? I guess then I/we work on the best way to end this M. Because it isn't good for me, her, or the kids, the way it is.

That was funny. Seeing if she would have a reaction to you going with someone else would be interesting if nothing else. Get her thinking that she can't keep you dangling over a ravine forever?

I am wondering what she's going to think when I leave for 4 or 5 days to go rafting! Not that she'll know that. I need to figure out how to leave emergency info, without her knowing what's up!
