Ellie,

I am on board. I will start Sunday. I have a bowflex here that i will use for the weight training and a great bike path literally out my door. Been running 3 miles every other day and walking it on the off days. Here we go.
My incentive? I have a little bet with someone special.

Are you doling out money for the supplements? Jill anyone?
Off to Barnes and Noble for the BFL book in the AM after I hunt down a Burley at a garage sale.

Cool, Chilly!

I recommend getting the book AND the success Journal - more $ I know but the journal is invaluable. If you can only get one, get the journal and read the website.

As for the supplements - all we're doing right now is taking our multivitamins, although I do have some chocolate shakes for my S16 to try. Lots of body builders don't use supplements. Some people do well with meal replacement shakes but I prefer real food.

So far, that's Jill (who has a head start ), Jackie, Chilly, myself, and my son. Any others out there?

Hi. I didn't buy any supplements, I am just taking vitamins, like you. Also, I am walking every morning at 6:30 with my neighbor. We only have time to do about 2 miles. H is in school at night for the next two weeks, so that means I can't go to the gym
My babysitter is pretty expensive, and we're trying to save money for our home that we will be getting in about 2 years so that means we are scrimping a bit. We are only splurging on golf 2 x a month for H, two outings for me a month, with friends or alone, and one or two dates for ourselves.
Also, I found that I sometimes have to force myself to get going in the morning, but if I keep remembering that it gives me so much extra energy during the day if I exercise in the AM, and that I'm toning, (even if the scale is moving so slowly), it gives me the motivation. I really need to make up my eating plan, but I usually only have time during the day for lunch and a small dinner, so I'm not over doing it in that area.

Good luck guys!

Hey!

I bit the bullet and bought both Body for life and the Journal. Guess I am ready to go. My plan is a trial run this week until Thursday when I drive off for KC. I will start the program in earnest on Monday when I come back from KC. So, today I will lie in the sun in my yard and read "the book". Here goes.

Ellie,
You were helpful to me in the beginning, I was wondering if you could visit my thread. My situation has gone from bad to worse.
Thanks a bunch. I'm in MLC

Hi Ellie,

SILLY question: I have never in my life been to a gym and used weights, is there usually someone around at these places to show you how to get started? I REALLY want to try to firm up. I have lost quite a bit of weight and do feel much better but still VERY out of shape. H is also complaining about this and at one time he talked of joining the Y. I'm afraid I was intimidated and didn't encourage this activity.

But this might be a really good thing to do either separately or as a something to do together activity!

Going to check out BFL web site today hopefully!!

Yes,

Every gym has someone to show you the equipment and tell you the correct seat heights and weights to use. So go sign up!! I love going to the gym, it's much more motivating than working out at home for me!! Good luck! nik

Hi all -
been busy, SIL in town for business trip, has left her two adorable girls (5 and 8) with me for a couple of days while she works, then will spend the weekend with us. My favorite IL.

H still depressed, but seems to be lifting slowly, and seems to have some insight into it - has even apologized to me for his depression. Has still been forthcomimg with the hugs and ILY's, altho his libido has taken a beating (unusual for him). Last night was okay though!

Doing well with my diet, but have missed a workout or two. Think I can catch them all up by the end of the week, but I really need to be more consistent about doing my workouts in the morning - otherwise the day gets away from me and then I'm too busy to shoehorn it in. S16 continues to do great with it, has been very responsible about his diet and workouts and is already commenting on how much better he feels.

Ellie---

Thanks for all the BFL info and motivation. I kept to the diet about 90% this week, which is my all time best, except I didn't get the weight workouts in--next week to the gym. Trying to juggle the summer schedule.

Keep it up, do you sign up on the website for the June challenge? They give you $150 in free products if you finish.
