Karen: In Muskoka (Canada's #1 Cottage Spot) - there are many of the rich and famous with their summer homes on the big lakes. Those of us paupers who can scrape enough together (or whose family thought ahead and bought into the cottage scene when we were small) have places on the smaller lakes. Mine is a mid-size lake, closest to those other 3 big ones.
I have just hired a new property manager to help do some of the yard work/maintenance. He just informed me he does Marty's place too. (as in Martin Short). My plumber also works for Kurt & Goldie. We have many of the hockey players in our area as well and all the big Toronto businessmen. Thing is - they use the same restaurants, stores and other businesses as the rest of us. It does drive up the prices a bit for services. And we do happen to cross their paths at times.
Just got a second quote on the retaining wall. This one is under $10,000 - so we're on a roll! I'm going to make a few other calls and see where to go with it. Also just got the final contractor bill on the elevator and it came in $5,000 over estimate - BUMMER! Guess the retaining wall will wait a bit longer. Gosh - I wish I was rich!
Karen - that Jason makes ME wish I was on the show. Not that he would want me - (I'm a few years older than him - ha ha), but he makes me melt. If she doesn't pick him - she's a FOOOOOL! I just think Jesse and Graham are there for diversity but it is Jeremy or Jason who are in for the long haul.
And rumour has it that Shayne and Matt are on the outs. I hope not. I think they're a cute couple too. Not sure if she could be in it for the long haul, though. She really did love to tell him only what he wanted to hear.
