I think it may be a little more volcanic than I was bargaining for! Just read an article about "Vog" - volcanic smog that's become a problem since the second vent opened up on Kilauea this March.

Just booked a manta dive/snorkel - can't wait!

I've got to say, going to Hawaii does wonders for the PMA! I need to start planning my next trip ...

Had a blast snorkeling, driving about, hiking, people watching (make that bikini watching), and just generally mucking about. Not ready for work tomorrow!

On the home front, it felt good to return to my own place - felt more real. There's still 5.5 months before our D is final, but I'm really moving on. Won't shut door to W, but am ready to actively pursue a meaningful R.

Email from W on return - D agreement. She somehow dropped the amount she was paying me for the house by $2K (?!) and asked if I'd stay on the mortgage for 1.5 years. Rationale: She'd have 1 year at 100% time before getting financing. This is after she asked me to stay on for 2 years so she could finish her PhD, but also after she admitted to me that it'd take 2.5 - 3 years for her to finish. So, she suddenly thinks she can finish in 6 months?! Anyway, I said no. Said I wanted off mortgage by June '09.

She also invited me to a big party she's throwing for her birthday party. I thanked her for the invite and said I'd love to come, but it'd probably be awkward so would have to decline. She also wanted to drop more stuff by so I'm sure I'll see her soon. Can't for the life of me figure out what's going on in her head - I'd never handle a break-up like this. But there I go again, trying to figure out WAS!

Anyway, final word: if you're feeling down, go to Hawaii!
