Chicki, yes I do understand about consequences for breaking the commandments but that is not the same as God causing an action to happen ie-having ones husband leave a marriage for another woman so we can suffer, which is what I understood Steelers to have said from the quote she made. It appears I was mistaken. I also believe the laws of the Old testament no longer applied after the birth Of Christ, because He was our salvation and by his death all things were made new. It is however not the place to discuss scripture. It was merely one point in Steelers post that confused me. I understand suffering because of being Christians but this is not the same thing. Many Christians are persecuted and suffer for their beliefs even today, I just cannot link that to a WAW spouse, my problem and I thank Steelers for her patience in explaining it to me.
