Hope everyone's having a great mother's day. I got two beautiful cards from the girls... D5's said 'Are you gonna have a great mother's day or do i need to throw a tantrum?' and that was soooo D5. D7 wrote in hers "Mom! I don't know what I would do without you". I think that is the most treasured thing I've ever been written. Lucky lucky me!!!
I also got 2 breakfasts in bed. D7 woke me up w/ b-i-b of cereal and fruit b/c she was 'honoring' my biggest loser challenge. Then D5 felt bad b/c D7 didn't wake her up to help so when I finished that breakfast, I said I was going back to sleep but I was still sooo hungry. Shortly thereafter D5 showed up with pizza, cottage cheese, a banana and grapes. LOL!!! Special special girls.

So, in my divorce decree, X and I were given 6 months to refi the houses (I kept the marital property and he kept the rental property). X called last week to say he was having a hard time qualifying to refi his mortgage and consolidate his new debts b/c the marital property is still showing as a liab for him even with the quit claim deed until I refi myself. He said that his debt to income is too high unless I refi at the same time... I mentioned that I've been busy but have been putting feelers out there too...
So fast-forward to today. X calls. He took the day off to work on banking biz such as getting the quit claims executed, etc. Did I have time to meet him at the bank to deal with that. No, but let me know and I'll stop by to sign today or tomorrow. I then drop D7 off with him and he says that he's found a way to get refi'd without having me refi concurrently... I just have to sign a lease that I'm leasing the marital property from him so that he can use that lease to offset the liability of the property.

Um... the divorce decree is fine. It's the crazy idea that I'm going to sign a lease that I'm LEASING MY HOUSE from X that made me laugh. I think I'll suggest that he asks OW to cosign with him... SO, not really thinking there's any chance in hell that I'll jump on the 'lease favor' for him.

You know, the quitclaim doesn't have anything to do with this, I believe. Him signing a quitclaim to your house gets him off the DEED but not off the mortgage. The bank doesn't care WHO owns the house, they care who owes them money - and as far as they're concerned, you both owe them money until you get re-financed.
And you soo deserve it.
